Alright I've just baught the game and this is my very first time playing so it's kinda weird.
I'm just pretty much wondering really what I should do, i've made a character and got it up to level 8 and so far it's been pretty boring doin' the quests and such, maybe I should join a clan or somethin to interact with people? But I doubt they'd want to recruit a total newb so..any ideas of what I should do as of now or where to go to find other players?
I've probably put this in the wrong forum or something to.
Ah ok thanks for the help, i'll try to endure the torment of a low lvl character for now and ask later for a clan or academy whatever you call it later. XP
I knew I put this into the wrong forum.. >_<
ok listen carefully
ppl want true noobs in clan, it benefits them as much as you
go to your own server forum and inform ppl right away that you are looking for a clan
do not join the clan unless they give you full top Ng armor and weapon
its the least you can expect for your hard work of lvling your toon ^^
<figuring 'what the heck, i'll give it a shot'>
Zan, buddy. Neither response was sarcastic! Mine will be though.
News flash!!!! No one bought the game to take care of your tender feelings on the forum boards.
You're new. We all were. We asked stupid questions and folks answered us. You'll probably do the same.
Now, to answer your question...."so what do I do"?
Keep leveling and learning the game and running newbie quests. You can't possibly have "gotten tired of running quests" at level 8!!!! If you really have, I just don't know what to tell you.
Be nice to folks in chat in game. It's a community in Lineage2 in-game so you pretty much have to interact (you sure will have to at higher levels).
At level 10-12 all toons can do a weapon quest. It provides a decent free weapon and you should definately run those. Use the newbie buffs continuously (don't leave home without 'em).
Hunt green mobs (green).
Lose the attitude.
Finally, read Jute's guides for FAQ's on this website post!!!!! There is a lot of solid information there.
Ok I guess it's true I did missunderstand what nameless said and as I said if I were mistaken I do apologise for that. Just from what s/he was saying from previouse mmorpg's i've played nobody would really want a noob to join their clan and I don't really see how it can benefit them, also about what s/he said with "do not join the clan unless they give you full top Ng armor and weapon
its the least you can expect for your hard work of lvling your toon ^^" I assumed that s/he was making fun of me or just blurting out false information because I really wouldn't expect free things from just joining a clan and I know it isn't hard work to lvl up to 8. =/
I have gotten tired from the quests because quite frankly they bore me, hunting items and such with nobody to talk to does bore me so yah, I can't really help that. =x
Once again I apologies for my mistake and being so denfensive about it.
the benifits are rep points. when low level players (below 40) joing clans, the will get rep points when the player reaches 40 and does 2nd class change quest. i would suggest (like namless) to go to your server forum and say that you're new and looking for a clan/academy(academy is what people under lvl40 join, instead of the main clan) and you should get some quick replys.
welcome to the game , have fun :)
Honestly only ragnarok online and another which I forget.
I'm trying to talk to people in this game but they keep running off, kinda annoying really. >_>
Ok now i'm not so sure if they're actualy players...there are like 5 or so dwarves every so now in then one will run into the item shop then run to get buffed then run away and since i've been watching them they all seem to move to the exact spot. Maybe it's a bot or something? I have no idea.
Stick with it firstly. Once you reach level 20 and move from your starter town your game experience will change.
The reason why new players are wanted by clans is because of the new Academy system that was recently created. Have a look in the library (left) under the clans bit and it's all explained there.
Lastly ask as many questions as you need to on the forum (try to search for the answer first or look through the various guides before doing so.) The people here are for the most part friendly, helpful and fun. Almost everyone is sarcastic sometimes but that's just part of life. Don't take it personally :)
Before the C5 chronicle it was true that few clans would actively recruit lower levels into their clans. However, now clans get "rep points" when people join their Academy (the Academy is a special branch of the clan for people less than level 40) and they get the most rep points when you join the Academy at the lowest levels. Clans need rep points to raise their clan level above level 5 and starting with clan level 6 they get access to special clan skills.
As a result, most clans will recruit and help out people that commit to join their Academy and stick with it until level 40 and the completion of the 2nd class transfer quests (clans don't get any rep points until you finish your 2nd class transfer).
So, I suggest following the advice already given and post a "looking for clan" entry into the server forum on which you plan to play.
ok, im a lvl 20 warrior and im finding it impossible to make money. i need better gear so i have a chance of completing quests and gaining xp but cant cos of no money..how do i advance from here? im in a clan but its only just starting (5members)

1) Join the academy from a bigger clan and get the Oath armour, most of the time they can help you out with D grade weaponry too
2) Learn the manor system and exploit it
3) Reroll another char, equip it with the gear you have and restart all over again...at lvl 20 return the extra money to your main and you will have some cash.
Alrighty then, I guess i'll just have to be patient untill i move on to new areas.
Well let me say welcome to Erica, they are being serious when they say start asking for a clan academy to join. Lot's of clans looking for new people because it helps the clan advance. A good clan will get you into armor easily through a quest. You just have to be level 20. These days the game is a lot easier to get yourself through the lower levels too so enjoy it.

everything i said was true man
up till last chronicle noone would want a lvl 8 in clan as of a few months ago now everyone does
ppl need you in clan as early as possible since the lower lvl you are the more points they will recieve
while i was sorta jokeing about lvling being hard work, if you dont do it other ppl in the clan will have to (by makeing alts)
i was also serious about getting top grade weapons and armor
whenever someone joins my clan they can expect to get top NG as a reward for earning us rep points (and at least academy D grade)
even though you will find some major tools on these forums i generally hear that its the most helpful of all mmorg forums
if you have a stupid question to ask dont hesitate
