just wanted to get some insights/opinions if others have had similar situations.
(now before i start, if this to some seems like a stupid post or a waste of their time, then i apologize, just wanted to share...)
i started playing L2 as DE Fighter and then got her to 52 SK. while playing my SK, i found myself saying, "maybe i should've picked a different race." i've always liked melee classes, hence decided to go with a human warrior and now he's almost ready to hit b grade, and have really enjoyed playing as a glad. i havent played my SK since i started my glad, this was like a little over a month ago, played my human toon every day lvling him.
now i know that everyone says that play the class that you enjoy playing, and even though i've had an awsome time playing as a glad, in the back of my mind i'm missing my SK. now i know how long it takes to get a character to its max potential, i really want to stick with one. but i just feel bad that i should've stuck with my SK and the time i spent on my glad i'd have gotten the SK closer to mid 50's or something. and now i find myself again stuck with which toon to continue with seriously.
anyways, i had some free time at work, and decided to add my thoughts here.
Ok, first off, you are looking at this from the wrong perspective.
Think of it this way. It's not that you wasted your time and "should" have worked on one character. It's that you had a need to explore another character and now, in light of that exploration, you have realized what your former character offered. You are now ready to commit. Or, if you have the need to explore further then you will.
Never beat yourself up for your decisions, even if you realize those decisions are bad.
That's how people mature. That's how they add depth to "who" they are.
As my Harp teacher always used to say to me "your mistakes are your Gurus". ;)
you will hear a lot of people telling you to stick to one char so you can get high lvl. well, dont. you will get boored of your char, of the gridning, of the game.
I have one char I play more then the others, but I have sever toons I play when I get boored. for me, I just love playing toons between lvl20-40. best lvls tbh! (your XP-bar actualy moves)
My guess is, you're not grinding enough with friends. The class/race combo you pick is important, of course, but I've found that when leveling with other people, I enjoy myself a lot more no matter what I'm playing.
Please see my sig (actually missing two starter toons on franz, one lvl 6 on Kain, one lvl 4 or so on Sieg)!!!!!!!!!!!
I play part-time (couple hours a night). I like different things in the game at different times, I suppose.
I'm sure, like you, my DA could be at A-grade in 11 months I've been playing, even with my slower play.
But I've learned lots playing the other toons too and wouldn't trade that time for anything.
Sovrath is right--don't second guess.
The "Drakkos-answer" to your question would be to hold both toons and start another one or two and try those out! Who knows, maybe you're a dwarf at heart :)
That happens to me ALL the time because everytime I come back, I decide to make a new character making me not get too high in leveling. This is the first time I actually started back with my character since it hit me that I could never get high level since I quit and make new characters when I got back :/
Getting a new char is like sleeping with a new chick.
All the kids stick to the first because they are so impressed by sex. Then there are the old dogs, who enjoy lots and lots of new chars. ;)
Have Fun !

Haha.. isn't that the truth...
<== this old **** has leveled 9 40+ toons And deleted twice that many at 30+ after trying them out. Just to have fun. Thats what matters in the end after all.
i found my niche after playing through 2 of nearly the same characters.
i got to 48 on my bishop, decided it wasnt really as good as i could be. rolled a second account and a second alt. started 2 toons and grouped them from level 1. now i have an SE and a bishop and a sorc that i find all fun. if i was to count all the toons over my 2 accounts i have over 40 toons, most under 20, scattered over almost all the servers. took a fair amount of hunting to find the right server let alone the right class.
Hmm, never really had the problem... I mean sometimes I get tired of playing my Spellsinger, and once and a while I go on an alt, but really I just stick with my spellsinger for the simple fact that he isn't just a certain class for me anymore, he is a someone that people know, he is a personality...not a spellsinger... This is why I play him...and this is why I will still play him... Not to mention only 4 more levels before I can subclass! :) And have the best of both worlds.
