Necros' and their Servitors

Can necro's use their summon to XP decently, just as a change of pace from nuking? And with the summon, can a necro take his weapon and melee with his summon? And which summon is the best for this? I know it won't be as effective as nuking, but I want to have a varied playstyle. The answer will probably determine whether my Wizard will go Necro or Warlock.

Necro got the highest DD summon ingame.... yeah not only do they have nukes and the fort.

only 1 downside, you won't be able to heal it well at all, neither do you have self buffs for it. So it won't go well for you, not only that why do you want to use it when your the second fastest lv class ingame ?

I want to use it so I won't get bored with my character, and I don't really care about leveling fast with this character, it's just an alt for when/if I get bored with my BD.

Your summon can work as a tank for you. It tanks while you nuke or hit with your weapon.

The only experience I had with servitors are the summons that the Wizard has. And I prefer to melee with them.

problem is that not only is the summon slower for xp but it will also cost more to run than if you just nuked
i guess you could slap prophet and se buffs on it and it would be fairly leet but it just wouldnt come close to nukeing mobs

no class is as versatile as necro so if you cant handle it before B grade then l2 isnt for you

spells no longer fail so cdling could be as safe as normal nukeing if you do it right

It depends. If you only have your summon do all the damage, it will be slow going.

However, you don't have to stop nuking. For example, when I hunted for the Kris Recipe, the mob that drops it is 2x hp and high m.deff resist.

I'd send my pet to kill the Ol Mahim Witch, while I nuke all the nearby mobs. Works out really well, fast xp. But no, I would not just go from mob to mob while servitor does main damage and I melee assist. I haven't tryed soloing in a Cata yet though.
