Olympiad type PVP is interesting, we practice with those rules in the arena sometimes, much more fun and challenging than fullbuffed archer one-shotting everyone lol

yeah to be fair the pvp triangle changes alot under olympiad of mass pvp settings
I am not doubting your toon or ability one bit Kay. I am jsut saying Any toon played right can beat an archer. Weither on accident or just cause they killed them they can. Things happen and archers get beat sometimes. It makes me mad that you wont stop for one second and think that someone might be as good as you at playing their toon and kill you.
the movie like doesnt work for some reason.
my a grade da owns s grade archers with drac bows and focus sa . archers do nice dmg but die like lill girls. majestic prob better for s grade archer cause every stun lands on them in drac. DA root owns archers.
how much resistance do rings provide? I dont know who has the aq/barium but my root seems to land on just about everyone my lvl and few lvls higher. I see S grade archers owning A grade and below but lvl for lvl the tankers still dominate the archers ( sk and da at least )
Level 76 Hell Knight lands root on me (77 Sagi) about 20-25% of the time, I've got no boss jewels, only mental aegis. I beat that 76 Hell Knight majority (60/40) of the time, but need some luck in hamstring shot, and in arena it's hard to keep distance.
PS. I'm -11 CON Sagi with no boss jewels in Draconic.. suicidal enough?! Actually it works great, stun sucks, but it also usually break very easily. Draconic rocks!
fact is, drac sucks without antharas and zaken and frintezza/valakas. you get stunned nearly everytime. and that means a lot. I stun archers in drac more than I stun mages.
SK is very good vs archer if played right.. 360 shield block, hex, decrease patk, windshackle, anchor, slow, block arrow... gee, what else can you ask for vs archer.
in arena.. uhm.. yeh? We were talking about 1v1 here.. how else will we test it.. It's pretty hard to find an enemy tank soloing. >.< Well, last one was 10 levels below me so..
Anyways, yes I think an SK will own any archer around his level. DA's are slower, and not that much magic. An SK can basically just nuke the archer into the ground before he gets to the tanks HP.
However, in REAL PVP, tanks are more of a nuisance to me, IF they're smart and use hate, then I just hammer the attack button and it's nullified. Even with all that armor, an archer with a BD will slaughter most tanks.
Draconic isn't that bad in my setup, try it out. Everyone is like oooh noooes no stun resist.. *******!!! :p

For some real fun you should try the coliseum. I practice my pvp there instead because its more open. As a BD it lets me figure out how to close the ground on archers and nukers with out dieing before I can drop them. Anyways just make a clan day of it, its fun.

When? If I may ask, if there was an army behind that BD, you bet I'd BSOE! L.O.L.
Honestly, I've never had to BSOE from a BD, I've been ambushed (read browsing forums while regenning MP) by a BD going through all my CP before I started shooting, he BSOE shortly after. A couple times healer + BD, BD BSOE... BD's doesn't scare me at all. ;)
And yes, I did do Colusseum many times, worked out better of course ;) I too prefer the Colu, as an archer, a slow one! I never get zerked, except for raids..
People with stats like yours Vina are the reason I've given up on mass pvp. 2/3 shotting people same level at 900 range is sick.
Then you look at olympiad and you see classes able to fight it out and last for minutes and you often can tell them making strategic mistakes etc during the match which could cost them the game. Every slip up could mean victory or defeat.
You think pvp is where you target someone, attack, fire a few criticals then retarget again? Please, L2 open pvp system has gone to [censored].
Haven't PVP'd all classes in game, but I know I've at about 50% rate beet my even leveled PS friend, not sure how it will go at lv 78 but at 72 it's as I said 50/50 and I'm talking unbuffed fight.
All about if stun lands thought. Even beated an even leveled SPS in an 'Olympiad' simulated fight, same buffs they give out and only SPS for the nuker ^^ thought I lost most of the time :P
As for Tanks, I haven't beaten one, yeah thats right no TK, or Paladin, Dark Avenger, I have not tried SK but I seriously doubt I beat them either. and I'm a warrior class, I suppose to beat this...... I do however quite easely beat healer classes ^^.
In the simulated fights we've made, I can't kill a healer.. burns all my MP so I'm stuck switching betweent weapons haha though the healers can't kill me either, so the winner is the one who takes the least damage.. healers are SO overpowered!
Archers without BD dances are easy for me even if they have drak bows. But when they get those dances they tear anything in their path no mather the pdef.
/agree with ventx. also, it would make sense to me that the classes which PvE easier (esp the classes that can actually solo at higher levels) would have some sort of cap on their effectiveness. like in a racing game, one type of car may accelerate quickly but have a lower top speed. in L2 its exactly backwards. xp loss disproportionately favours the archers and mages, and they have a higher "top speed" than otehr classes. stacking buffs and potions that heal for X amount (not % based) aslo favour them. in addition to this they suffer no to-hit or success-rate penalty when attacking a target not at range.
This simply is not true. These classes aren't the same type of car. When you race a stock car against a semi, you can't expect that the semi should ever win, because its not designed for either speed or maneuverability, its designed to carry things. In a race against another semi, it might have a chance, but its gonna be a long race. In the same way, a low hp high damage class is meant to finish the fight fast, they're not meant to sit there slugging it out until doomsday like the tank classes are. When you have a fighter who is meant to get in do their and then get out just as fast and one who is meant to sit there and **** all day, you are going to have a lot of friction when they come together, neither one was meant to operate at the level or in the same fight as the other.
Everyone loses the same amount of xp upon dying, so I'm not sure what you are trying to say here. Are you saying that mages die less often? This simply is not the case. Why just the other day I must have died 4 times while soloing in VoS, the tank I in the same area died twice at most. So who lost the most xp?
You're logic on potions and stackng buffs also fall short of being true. When we are talking about receiving physical damage, a mage who has little physical defense is taking a much larger proportion of damage than a tank and has a much smaller hp pool. Because the potion heals for the same amount, the hp potion is actuallty helping the mage less because they are taking more damage. So in terms of healing damage received, an hp potion actually helps tank classes more than mages.
With magical damage, this is entirely dependent on which classes are being compared, though the same logic applies. Whoever has the highest m defense is being helped the most by an hp potion.
As far as buffs are concerned, this is simply crap. A buff which increases the targets attack speed by x% helps any person who receives it by increasing their attack speed by x%, and when adding other buffs which stack with this, every person receives the same amount of stacking. There is no class who upon getting the same buff setup will suddenly find that they are only getting X*(Y-c)% increase instead of the X*Y% increase everyone else is getting.
What really makes sense is that classes who pve easier probably pvp easier simply because the skills needed to kill mobs more quickly and more easily just happen to be the exact same skills needed to kill players more easily.
And don't get me started on how racing games are actually some of the least unfair games out there. Most racing games have cars which have higher acceleration and top speed than others, or cars which have a much higher acceleration and only slightly lower top speed than others. Or any combination really.

I can agree with this

True

You may have died 2x more than him, but I bet it is easier for you to gain the xp back. The tank cannot two shot mobs nor can any high hp class. We have to stand there and wack away and then rest.

Hmm dont agree with you on this one. While you have to use pots in emergency cases melee class has to use them all the time to regain our hp. One maybe two pots is all you need to regain your health whereas we need btwn 6-10. Plus how often do you need to use the pots? With your range attacks and the power of your attacks I would guess not that often.
With magical damage, this is entirely dependent on which classes are being compared, though the same logic applies. Whoever has the highest m defense is being helped the most by an hp potion.
duh

Ahh but look at the power of mage attacks versus the patk of melee toons. When you get buffed it boosts your already insane matk versus the boost it gives a melee. Face it you hit harder with the same buffs than a melee toon does.
What really makes sense is that classes who pve easier probably pvp easier simply because the skills needed to kill mobs more quickly and more easily just happen to be the exact same skills needed to kill players more easily.
Bah you dont know what your talking about. I play a destroyer which is pretty **** good at pve. However in pvp an archer or mage can own me. Sure my patk is higher if I hit you and I do damage, but your range and matk will own a melee. Granted tanks get root now and if they land it they will own you, but not all melee got that skill. Your range and the power of your attacks make you better at pvp. In pve you still do well because the only mobs I can two shot are deep blues which give me no xp and sp.
in olympiad prophets are very overpowered like summoners was in c4. they beet archers nukers necros tanks and melee classes easy. never seen one meet a class that dominate them. always prophet have upperhand and can only loose if he lags or make huge mistakes.
in open pvp archers with drac bows and bd dances kill everything. while 78 nukers with all buffs hit for 1000-1400 with +4-+5 s arcana mace on archer the archer hit back for almost the same if he dont crit. if he crit he do 4-5k dammage and uts incorrect target.and they crit at least one of 3 shots wich means the nuker need to kill the archer in 3 nukes if they start to fire at same time on average. nukers need 6-10 nukes to kill an archer that use pots and elexirs mayby more. archer need max 5 shots but usealy 3-4.
archer not only outdamage nuker but they also have better hp/cp/pdef/evasion and so. they clearly dominate end game pvp.only daggers with perfect setup full boss jewls and might mortal dagger can beet em if they get close and bluff lands.
Kayo your one guy, and your not landing that kinda damage on a character in IC w/shield using the same jewelry as you so dont make the comparison, regardless how strong you are, once someone focus fire on you in mass pvp your dying.
I see prophets lose frequently in Olympiad. Evasion/stun kicks their ***. Mana burn is good, but as soon as your MP is drained you run for the remainder of the fight doing small damage while the Prophet frantically tries to catch you. If you are a nuker you might lose, but isn't that part of the triangle?
well every situation is unique and if an archer had bd dances then this and if a prophet had this then that... all i know is i have my own bd and sws and my da with kitty and full buffs and dances and songs owns most archers most of the time even with drac bows with focus. so archers own alot of the toons alot of the time, but i like to be prepared...so get your own bd and sws and tank or become an archer and get a drac bow either way for me nukers still the ones who take me down fastest no matter what buffs i have. and necros still the tough guys for taking the tanks out.
