Sweep Macro?

Someone mentioned meeting someone in-game who had a sweep macro.

Anyone attempted this? If successful, care to share the knowledge?
If you have one, it's proof you're using a 3rd party tool.

Macros cannot target dead monsters, and believe me, I've tried ><
That was my thinking too.
If you know someone that has a Sweep macro then that's a sure sign they're not using the L2 game client. There are no commands to target a dead mob. You have to shift-select with the game client.
depends what he meant really
macro could be...
/useskillsweep
/pickup
/pickup
/pickup

Not true.

/target mob name

... works just fine to target a dead mob. Just takes forever to type :P

So I guess if you are polling multiple mobs with the same name a macro could work something like this.

/target <mob name>
/useskill sweep
/target <mob name>
/useskill sweep
etc.
etc.
etc.

I'll have to try this out a bit. It seems likely that you may target still living mobs and I don't know if this would break the macro.

If I have success I'll let you know.
What about using the select nearest mob command? I have a macro to select nearest mob and use stun. It usually works as expected, but sometimes I find that it picks a dead mob, and I am running in the wrong direction. I dont know if this is because of lag, or if it is a feature of the command.
Select nearest mob command doesn't select dead mobs. It does have a bug where using it to select the next mob, then attacking or spoiling or stunning or what have you right afterwards will, on occasion, select the previous mob you were attacking (i.e. the dead one). It's really annoying actually.

The only problem with the
/target <mob name>
/useskill sweep

macro is that you need to create one for each specific mob type. There is no generic way to do it.

OK, I tried this out last night on Pronghorn Spirits.

/target Pronghorn Spirit
/useskill sweeper
/target Pronghorn Spirit
/useskill sweeper

This sorta works. If you are lucky enough to successfully spoil almost all of the mobs (turn blue) then this will work. The problem I ran into was when one or more mobs failed to spoil. The target would become stuck on that mob. I'm going to try adding a next target after the /useskill entry.
I find it's better to just have
/target <mob name>

in the macro. That way all it does is target the next mob having that name. Putting the sweeper part in there and then duplicating it a whole bunch of times may seem like a good way to get the whole group, but it's very prone to error, as you have discovered. It's a few more button presses this way, but you'll never get stuck at a mob that hasn't been spoiled. You can just use the macro again to target the next one and forget about the one you didn't spoil.
