New player looking for help with skills

Player Questions Started Last reply 7 posts
I just started playing the free trial through mmorpg.com. I looked through all the classes, and decided on a Gladiator. I just need advice on what skills to get at low levels, if it makes a difference later on. I am usually pretty careful in making these type of choices so I don't have to start a new character after putting tons of time in on the current one. Also if there is a more in depth guide from lvl 1-60 for Gladiator, feel free to direct me to it, it would help alot. Thanks. :D
I think there is some sort of gladiator guide on this site. A player made one. But I have no idea where.

As far as skills. Don't sweat it. The amount of skill points that you use to experiment with skill at lower levels pales (heck... more than pales, doesn't even register, not even measurable) to the amount of skill points you will need at higher lvls. So don't sweat it.

To give you an example.

I spent some precious skill points on one of the new C5 skills: Fear. Wish I hadn't because it is a waste of a skill (mostly beause of the horrible land rate).

However, I have about 7.8 million skill points and am fretting a bit if I will have enough once 76 hits.

So, getting back to my point, spending 25 or 50 skill points when you are starting out will not matter. Welcome to the game. Ask questions, don't fall for player scams and don't take it personally if someone pk's you.
:p
It doesnt matter much for the later levels.. You can learn lower level skills later on, if you want to.
The only problem will be at lower levels, you will not have SP to learn all the skills. I recomend skipping skills for bow and dager at least.
Relax skill is realy good, so I recomend learning it earlier.
"don't take it personally if someone pk's you"
Remember the old Klingon saying;
"revenge is a dish best tasted Cold!"
Remember their name and even the score when you are all growed up....lol
glad guide that predates most players. ages old but still somewhat valid. (http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m188/n****/gladguide.jpg)

in terms of skills, let me explain to you something; just because you wont be using a skill you obtained at low levels when youre high level does NOT mean you shouldnt learn it.

low level skills (skills learned from lvl 5-36) are skills you will NEED when youre getting through those levels. after level 40 and your second class quest your skill set changes, but youll be gaining more SkillPoints per level/per kill so youll be able to afford all your skills about as easily as you afforded your previous low level skills.

at level 1 you shouldnt be trying to save every SP for Wisdom at level 76. dont look at the amount of SP needed cause you can BUY SP when youve got cash to burn.

most classes are able to afford all their skills when they crop up if they manage to die a handful of times getting to the next level.
just get all of them for now. its not like making a bad choice now is going to hurt you later. choosing a class....well....then you have to start over. but for skills you get SP every time you kill a mob. and when you die....you lose xp but not SP. so you will always rack up SP and can get skills anytime you have enough SP. when you get into A grade, skills cost millions. but you are gonna figure out which ones you will never use, by the time you are in C grade. go for Attack ones first.... you need to kill millions of mobs....so the faster the better...
Just get the masteries for what you are using and dont get EVERYTHING.
1-15
-Get basic Weapon Mastery & Armor Matery
-Get Mortal Blow if your using a Dagger to level
-Power shot if using a Bow
-Power Strike if using a sword/blunt
-Dont bother getting Relax cause with heal pots that drop you'll seldom use it.

20-40
-Once again only learn what you will use. Decide on light or heavy armor and only learn those masteries.
-Get Boost HP/Battle Roar/Lion Heart/War Cry/Fast Hp Recovery and Detect Monster weaknesses.
-Viscious Stance I stopped learning cause it just drains the mp anyways.
-If your going to carry a blunt to stun others then learn "Stun" but not till later on when you can afford a blunt.
-When I was 20 I used Duals so that saved me alot of SP.If you cant afford duals and are stuck with the NG weapon you start with then just get the sword masteries. Dont bother learning polearm skills unless your going to be AOEing.
-40+
Get some duals cause the skills you'll be learning will be focused on it. Only get the skills that relate to the duals. If you still insist on stunning others and have a blunt get the stun masteries but only if you have sp left. Always get the skills/masteries that you will use most often. Dual Weapon Mastery/Sonic Focus/Triple Slash are first priority when hitting 40.
Im lazy now so if you have any other questions just lay em out.
