Before i Get to this, just wanted to say GJ on finally getting rid of the infestation of the bots, even though it is a great thing, there are still some issues.
I have some general questions,
1. Why did NCSOFT wait 2 years to get rid of the bots on all servers?
2. 80% of the people used 3rd party programs to help them with the game. It is believed to be NCSOFT's fault that this happened due to the lack of banning 1 or 2 years ago which forced other people to use 3rd party programs due to high volume of prices which gave players 2 choices if they decided to succeed in the game. 1 use 3rd party program or 2 purchase adena. How does NCSOFT plan to fix the servers (ie: mats, not enough drops)?
3. Due to bannings, most servers are dead. What is the plan to fix the dead servers? Most people already made it to the top using 3rd party programs and have no need for the program anymore and didn't get caught. (lucky them eh)
4. Is the reason NCSOFT waited until C5 to start banning due to the upcoming release of lineage.
5. Has anyone in NCSOFT actually played this game to understand the players view over the past two years?
6. Is it possible to increase the drop ratio? Prices are outragious. Only way to make adena is through drops. More drops of items will help the community greatly in game.
Please do something to help the communities of the lineage 2 world that are still playing. Thank You
I can't begin to speak for NCSoft, but if no one was reporting people for doing it, and doing so on a consistent basis, how could it be dealt with? Also, it's entirely possible that the developers didn't care one way or the other how people played the game; I'm giving this a try as a bit of a break from playing City of Heroes/City of Villains, and over there the developers have never allowed bots or recusive macros.
1. They didn't.
2. All made-up statistics are false.
3. Don't bot.
4. They didn't
5. I'm sure most of them do.
6. You'll never get rich. Change your paradigm.
1. Why did whiners wait two years to notice that bots were getting banned?
2. 80% of statistics are made up on the spot.
3. Why do people consider servers with a temporarily slighty lower population dead? Why would anyone who has botted their way up AFK - which bears the greatest risk of detection - shy away from doing something as relatively inconspicious as using the bot program to help with PvP? (Autopots, HP visiblity etc.)
4. What is this upcoming release of Lineage you speak of?
5. Do you need to have played the game to have a main? Oh wait...
I'll have to actually answer six since the basis of it isn't all that far of whack: Most things drop OK, the only thing that really needs a boost are some B Grade recipes, especially weapons, and the remaining A Grade armour recipes.
1. Why did NCSOFT wait 2 years to get rid of the bots on all servers?
They didn't, they do periodic bans all the time.
2. 80% of the people used 3rd party programs to help them with the game. I've never done either and I am doing fine. Yes my A grade is only +3, but I'm almost ready to subclass and I've played legit since day 1.
6. Is it possible to increase the drop ratio? Prices are outragious. Only way to make adena is through drops. More drops of items will help the community greatly in game.
I've made all my money without ever getting lucky on item drops. Money wont fall into your lap but it will come.

1. How do you know? you work for NCSOFT
2. Prove its made up. 80% of the players did have healers bots
3. reread the question asked.
4. prove they didn't refer to your answer for question 1
5. ??
6. who cares about getting rich, im sure anyone can make 800m or 1billion just for a drac bow.
1. He knows because bots have been disappearing for years. They don't just up and vanish on their own after being politely asked to.
2. The burden of proof is with you, since you're just making a statement - you're not even explaining where you get your numbers from. Did you ask friends? If yes, did you also report those who said yes? Are you going off hearsay? Did you make an observation?
I'm not sure what you're asking about 6. Making money is possible. It's not easy, though, unless you use your credit card to do so - and of course, you wouldn't be posting this if that was your attention, unless you were desperately looking for an excuse.
1. Read other forums. People have been getting banned all along.
2. You provided the statistic. You provide the proof.
3. I did. It was never acceptable to bot.
4. Refer to #1.
5. HGMspam plays. Mistryl plays.
6. Drops are the worst way to make money.
You were asking about what NCSoft was going to do about the "dead" servers as a result of the bannings, as I recall. It's not up to them to do anything, since the players knew there was the possiblity of getting caught and banned, once a decision was made to no longer allow bots.

1. its not whining, its a question based on visual observation. Of course bots have been banned and such over the past two years, but now i haven't seen a one, alot of open areas now and hard to find people to train, with that prices have doubled and trippled.
2. 80% is based on visual observation over the past two years. Not made up on the spot. If you have been here since beta as i did, you should know that the stats are there or around 80%. even in parties people have out of party bots.
3. considered dead due to the fact only the godly players are playing the game anymore. if your lucky to find someone that is 40+ its usually a subclassed character (3rd subclassed by the way, but no third party program there) played by a 40 year old that acts 10 over a game. Usually this awsome character uses the famous words noob or whiner. Oh and my favorite all lowbies are usually people that got bored with there main. why don't you go around and ask all the people in noob towns the name of there main, they all have one. Thats a dead server to me.
4. Read the lineage2 news
ok np for you to get what you need. go hunt it and hope it drops within a couple hours.
1. There have been large, concentrated bans all along. They make sense. There are still bots around - I've seen a few in GoE and in EV.
2. I've been in plenty of parties, often with a healer or buffer out of party that was also... dading, played by me. Your observation skills are off (see above).
3. Oddly enough there are plenty of people at my lowbie/super casual level that I can have fun or even, if I feel like eating dirt, PvP with.
4. I'm referring to the fact that Lineage has been out for years in a not at all clever or subtle way, but I'll put it bluntly: what do you mean, CT or L3?
Why would I expext to hunt only a few hours for gear when I hunt forever for my levels? I expect to own a set of avadon robes, one set of Zubei Heavy (or possibly doom light or BW heavy, my decisiveness is way down there), two BO sets and two Kris's by 52. It doesn't matter how long it takes in terms of time, as long as it doesn't take longer than the levelling.

Thats why the question should be left for NCSOFT, kinda hard for all you that replied answer a question for NCSOFT personel. If you don't work for em, why guess and answer. Its not the bot banning that i care about. Like i said, good job on NCSOFT for banning em. But the community is affected by the aftermath and everyone that has posted knows this. Im sure if your a clan leader or high in your clan or in the click of the clan. you can leach off the low 70s to make your adena/get your mats. (not saying all clans do this of course, I only know of selling gear drops to make a little adena, don't know how the hell these people get 900m, but its more than just grinding and buying selling. maybe a good scam artist, i don't know)

True, but similar things happen in other MMO's that get people's hackles up, often for no good reason.

Hard to say how they do it, but I'm not going to judge them just in case they are doing it legitimately. :)

HEH thats my point. first to castle i would figure you would have to be at lease 62. at lvl 62 you would get splattered (what fun) if your lower well you figure what would happen. I believe NCSOFT did good with there clan setups because now everyone can play some sort of part in clan no matter what lvl. Take 2+ years of playing. I play as much as possible. Hell im addicted. barely just made 70, no subclasses. Thats 2 years. now take these people that are 78+ with 3 subclasses. I want to know how these players got that high. Don't have to be a math major but the time to accomplish this is amazing even with the adena and gear, oh and something else lol, seems that all these high lvls, use to be in game friends in prelude, but the characters are owned by different owners. The kicker is all these guys say i have been here since the game began when i know its untrue with that character. It doesn't really bother me but all they say is noob this noob that or quit being a whiner, or go lvl, but yet I knew the original owner(with that ncsoft just has to check original name to credit card holder to figure out if they lagit or not) **** thats another question. Hell, I just want to play the full aspect of the game.
I've been playing a game the last 2.5 years that's got a level 50 cap and I'm just now level 48 in it; yet there were people playing that same game that hit level 50 within 4-6 months of launch...
This is a fact question.
There are people that purchased there account. When different names and addresses are on the account. That has to click a lightbulb on. Why hasn't NCSOFT done something about that?? If there going to ban, do it all the way. credit cards tell all
I have a question, how long before this thread gets locked. I love how right after mass bannings there are all these posts complaining about the bot situation. Here's an idea! Play the game the way it is intended to be played. If you enjoy it please continue to play and tell your friends about it. If you can't handle that go play WoW.

Here is another idea, if you don't like this thread, stay away from it and goto another forum. geez

And there is a guy who played since beta and havent got a single toon to 40? So what?
thats the problem here. no one here has more time here than me. equal yes, because i started the first day of beta. Its bad getting hooked to a game when you have a job and family. But that is my arguement. People not just myself should be able to get the full aspects of the game due to paying ever since beta. People shouldn't have to be unemployed to recieve that state check and get rid of family to so they can play competitive. Game shouldn't be based around that.
WARNING: Do not play this gave if you have job or family. Play at your own risk, or requires 3 to 4 years for a person with a life to play high end competition.

You're assuming that this is the case; it most likely isn't. In many cases, at least from my experiences, it's those that are still in school that spend the most time playing MMO's and reaching the highest levels the fastest.

That may be true. Can't argue that, has been awile since college. but i don't remember having that much time in the dorm.

But what the OP said in his/her first post is 180 from what we are talking about now. Matter of fact, just what are we talking about now?!
LOL, you got that right. im out folks. thanks for your responses. To bad i didn't get an answer or one that i can believe is true. Again, thanks, much appreciated talking with you all.
"now take these people that are 78+ with 3 subclasses. I want to know how these players got that high."
Many of them (and I know there is some fanatic exception out there whom someone will bragingly tell about (eyes roll)) but most of those heros got that way with leveling methods that are no longer available. Tricked-out AOE parties, and massive poleparties.

Manor and craft is a good way. A grade weapon recipes are cheap (as you can get them from the royal coin quest, by far the least painful of the A grade quests), all the mats to make them can be manored, key items have been cheap since C4, and the weapons often fetch a very nice price.
You can also make a bounty hunter; the top B grade through S grade spoils are quite profitable, even more so if you spoil A grade armor recipes (esp. helmet) and craft them.

I'm waiting for the proof of this post, I'm almost 75, and I own 2, almost 3 A grade armors, 3 A grade weapons, and well yeah set for quite a while in the future, and I have never cheated once.
I would like to know how exactly you 'measured' this made up statistics about this.
I presume you maybe just want to flame peoples who do better then you because it's maybe tenicaly not possible to do it otherwise? Well I can say your wrong on that.
Anyhow as stated before, most statistics are made up. Oh and plz don't come with 'observation again'
they have been banning all along but alot of toons got away with it. look at the 3rd sub class lvl 76's.....BOT! the toons you see ganking every moment they actually play and they still 76 on 3rd sub class.....BOT! alot of bots made it and got away with it. Now alot of legit toons making it to 76 plus and the bots are bored casue they dont have lvl advantage and they cant gank so easily so they not playing that much. All the legit toons knew this time was approaching. Its too bad the bots are quitting now that the legit toons can get some payback. Maybe game will get better now that ganker bots no longer have the advantage they had in c3. anyway, get to 76 plus , the game probally isnt as fun for the ganker bots anymore so maybe we have a decent population of legit toons inhabiting the servers.

I have never actually tried the manor system, i figured it would take months and months. I will try this method for a couple weeks and see if it is worth the trouble.

Not flaming anyone, if you didn't notice it was a question. I didn't point anything at anyone. Congrats, your one of the leet 20%.
Avadon has neither MP regen nor Wit bonus. BW robes are what you should expect to own.
Over my dead body.
I made an elf for the hotness, I'm not going to gimp that by putting him in blue wolf. WIT bonus is irrelevant to EEs anyway - it would mean 0.5% extra exp returned on res (and that's 0.5% of the 4% loss), and then only for a few levels until he hits the 20% cap.
I'm not here to powergame enough to wear ugly armour. :p
We have always been dedicated to removing bots from the servers. As I've mentioned before, we're also working on ways to improve our methods, and it seems that our efforts have been more visible recently.
Many members of the team do play Lineage II in their free time.
Also, there are no plans to increase the drop rates as far as I'm aware, but you're welcome to create a new thread in the Suggestions forum on that topic.
