Guide to lvling a necro?

Can someone direct me to a guide on how to lvl a necro please? Thank you.
my guide takes far fewer lines than traditional guides.

DeathSpike - Deathspike - BodyToMind /// switch to deathspike - vamp claw - body to mind

rinse repeat

its like levelling any other nuker; nuke nuke nuke.

you shouldnt go out of mana cause btm regens a lot of mana.

cursed bones are buyable in hardins.

getting to 40 though, thats a guide i dont have time for as its already been posted.
id say dont bother and reroll but thats just me.
600 adena per shot adds up after a while

the right mobs will net you 10x that cash per kill. as a necro, they arent a problem.
were are good spots to lvl at 53 that will get me more then its costing me?
Between 50 & 60 I spent alot of time in the cemetary and in forsaken plains.
Oh, if you're looking for a cheaper way to level, B2M till you have as little hp as possible, then Curse Death Link. Only uses Sps and should be doing more damage then a regular nuke. Don't think you get it till 52 though.

If you can get an SE to empower you and get bless the body from somewhere, you'll do more damage. It's risky though, but any quick xp route comes with risk, ask any poler :)
There's also Corpse Burst - I know of one necro subclass who levels with it.

I'll report how successful it is when I've had time to experiment with it more - I'm a bit worried about trying to pull multiple groups for this.
Necro's can level many ways.
Corpse burst is wonderful. This is my main way to hunt. Requires practice so if u wanna try this do it but work from a safe number up. Having an SE helps. Prophets are useful too.

Necro + Prophet you can use your summons and play melee.

Necro solo you can choose to nuke or use your summons.

When using summons remember to bring beast ss =)
I lvl with corpse burst =) and only a few deaths lol. death spike a few mobs to pull then when they r hitting u/next to u kill a mob with vamp claw to get hp back aswell =o and all mobs go down =))

hmm, and here i was thinking C.burst as totaly useless. i guess i'm gonna go to lowbie area and practice with that skill for a bit
At the lvl of 52 use btm to low your hp enough and then use death spike-Curse:death link. I think its a good stratic
at lvl 56 im only getting 600+ dmg using cdl without bsps with 25 hp lol, hurricane does 800+ damage, am i doing something wrong here... ive got empower, and bless body 4..
Last post was 2006 man this thread is done...

The HP added by Blessed Body/Body of Avatar don't contribute to CDL damage. Only your "unbuffed hit points" (Base HP + Clan Skill HP) determine the damage.

The difference is that hurricane is a Wind Attack and CDL is a Dark Attack. The mobs you are killing: Are they resistant to Dark Attacks or Weak to Wind Attacks?

CDL does over 2.5k damage on "M.Def neutral mobs", like in Outlaw Forest, Cemetary, etc - at level 52. On those mobs it will be almost double the damage of Hurricane.

I have personally found CDL to be rather useless for general XPing (especially as an SH which has Hurricane) until higher levels (like near 70) where you can use it to rake in some pretty sweet XP (14k+ at 66+ [WoA] and 18k+ at 70+ [Hot Springs]).
I have played alot of necro, heres my imput:
Your typical attack :)eathSpike (Low MP, high cost)
You can play the typical Nuker role with this dark attack, which has the same magic power of all the other nukers at the same lvl. Also, good for nuker parties, Gloom drops Mdef, while nukers debuffs are jsut elemental, but they do stack :P so other nukers will love you.
Even with body to mind, it can still be hard to keep your MP up if you are grinding hard, and if you have -men tats which most do. Body to mind does a decent amount of MP regen, and you might have to deal with not always being full HP if you are going to BtM as much as possible to keep grinding. Like states in other post, at this time you can use your courpse life drain after you kill (BtM then Drain for life) or you can use Curse Death Link, which around 50 HP, it does double the damage of a Cursed Bone.

I agree with what everyone said about Courpse Burst too, it used to be a pretty lame spell, but when C5 (i think it was) came around they doubled the damage of the spell, now the AoE nuke does the same damage as a typical attack nuke, making this spell the dopest AoE nuke in game, just have to have dead mob. All of your AoE Spells are great for both PvE and PvP. AoE fear is one of the best, weather its a group of mobs trying to kill you or a bunch of enemies in pvp, aoe slow + aoe fear is just sick. send everyone running like a turtle ever which way. and you AoE poison, and Gloom. :P'''''''

Another good way to lvl is with summons. your lvl 56 summon rocks, his stun is a useful tool, and he has a crit attack that hits harder than my nukes with empower. And his patk at 61 is around 1600 with decent buffs. With your summon you also have a extra hallow fo protect with your Transfer Pain. and when you can 2 shot a mob, and it only has like... 1/8 Life left, you dont have to waste another Nuke, jsut send you summon in first, then by the time your second nuke hits, its dead. or... to save more MP but slower lvl, Anchor the mob and let summon kill it.

Anchor is also good to lvl striders etc, anchor the mob and let the strider go to town on it.

Draw backs to a Necro: TK(Or Pali) + SelfDarkMagicResist + Self MagicResistBuff + PP DarkMagicResist+ Sws MagicResist Song + Sws DarkMagicResistSong = you hitting for around them for around200Hp at A/S grade. (And add some clan buffs on top of those buffs) u . u
Summons cost too much to level with. I actually leveled in catacombs in C Grade with it and it was very nice, but as you move up in levels so do the mobs and they start to overpower you as a summoner due to low power servitor heals. A level 60 Necro heals his servitor less than a levle 60 SE, and even with VR3 it's rough because you don't have Servitor Haste (Haste) and Servitor Magic Shield (Magic Barrier).

Cursed Man has a stun that works rather well and a crit skill that is okay until you start killing mobs that are leevl 65+ in which case its damage starts to become very negligible compared to the amount of damage you servitor is taking while it is using the skill (Slow Attack Speed/Slow Skill Use Speed). Cursed Man's P.Atk is rather uber, however, and it is such an awesome servitor when outfitted with all the group buffs (WC/PP and BD).

But it's very hard to please a group when you have to resummon a servitor and get it rebuffed in the middle of a buffround when another summoner can last ~5-6 buffrounds without summoning and has most of the base buffs for their own servitor (saving the buffers MP when it has to buff the servitor).

I've never really had problems with Paladins or TKs. SWS + PP/EE Dark Resist can be rough, though. I've never hit anyone for less than 400 dmg unless they were outfitted in alot of boss jewels and had an army of buffers around to boost their M.Def and give them Unholy Resistance.

Songs/Dances last only 2 minutes.
any questions?
Yes, why did you use Surrender to Fire.

I Corpse Burst leveled there a few times, the XP is horrible. Frozen Labyrinth or something? It's been so long I can hardly remember what it's called (only went there a couple of times).

At that level I was killing in Valley of Saints and the 48-60 levels didn't last long at all.

Actually, I went Corpse Bursting there with Benidict, Lol.

You can do better in a field considering the respawn (fast but not fast enough) and there are few areas that have more than 2 groups of mobs within adequate distance to justify running around killing them. 7k per single HP is low compared to other places, why don't you hunt in field? Just want something different to break the monotany?

If you miss a mob from the radius of Corpse Burst you run the risk of getting stunned too, and they hit hard for their levels. It seems all the nice AE spots have stunning mobs in them :(

High C Grade/Low B Grade: Skyshadow Meadow (out of Oren) is a nice place to AE, and is a more optimal place to level with corpse burst in becasue there are a multitude of groups all in close proximity but out of agro range of each other. If you have an SE you can basically kill all day with no downtime, possibly getting 2-3 levels a day if you play alot.

Save Corpse Burst for Mage/AE Groups. Single target killing is still the most optimal XP for leveling a Necromancer.

P.S. You are really slowing down your leveling by leveling there at levle 58 :(
i need surrender to aggro 1 more group if u see i get xp from 8 mobs there are only a groups of 4 mobs so its a little more dangerous but faster and stun? ive been there since 2 days and never get stunned. the only problem is that u can die if u have a shotlag -_- and i dont really lvl slow if got around 8% per buffround and i am solo so selfbuffs :) i am not the richest one and its the best way i see to save money. u only need 2 shots for 8 mobs (sometimes only 4 if there are fare away).
Never said you were rich, just that you aren't helping youself leveling in Frozen Labyrinth because you can do 58-60 in 1 day in Valley of Saints and then pick up the repeatable cash quest and make 2x what you spend just leveling there (drops are consistent enough to rely on them, blades/LS/mats/etc.).

But have fun AE'ing.

Could do close to 1% a minute in VoS at level 58 (15 mobs a minute @ 0.07/8% a kill).
that sounds pretty **** good how much adena u get from cash quest and how long u need?
PS:Found 2 trance sb (sold them for 1kk each :) ) and 1 divine stockings :)
PLAYING ON A 72" MONITOR THERE? LOL
hi!!Does anybody have any ideas for places to lvl up a necro from 40-50? :P
Ivory Tower Crator 40-46. Get quest from Hardin's Private Academy (from Merchant "Cema", "Under the Shadow of the Ivory Tower" I think it's called). Don't cash in on the quest until level 46 then get all the EAD you can and undercut people in Dion. You make good cash that way (for cursed bones). 2 Shot with Blaze.

46-48 Sea of Spores is very good, around where the tarantulas and trees are (don't bother with the golems there). Blaze + Death Spike should kill all of them. Leveling becomes more costly, but also more MP Efficient.

48-50 [or 52'ish] goto Outlaw Forest and kill all but the Witch Doctors unless you want to kill them.

If you have really good gear you can move to Valley of Saints at level 48. You need PP -and- SE buffs, though - and I recommend at least level 4 Blessed Body/Mind because Demon robe set = 1 shot to some of those mobs (-270 HP on set bonus, and C Grade P.Def).
thanks a lot i m going to try it :)
When level'ing a necromancer the most efficient way, in my opinion, if you do not have a box SE or are able to find a SE your own level, is to find mobs your own level between 40-52 that you can two hit. If you can avoid using vamperic claw, then do not use it! If it is possible to two hit monsters with Blaze instead, this is a much more efficient way of level. First of all Blaze only uses 30 mp whilst Vamperic claw uses 63, it's power at this point NOT superior enough to do the double amount of damage as Blaze. Keep it simple. Stick to your Wizard skills as long as you can, and dont forget to use Body to mind, it's an awesome skill. Just use vamperic claw to regain your HP once in a while. And remember, as long as you are low level, keep it to 1 or 2 casts per mob. If you can't, find green mobs, they are just as good! (While Solo'ing / Duo'ing)

When you hit 52 you will have the choice of using either Death Spike or CDL to level.

People who dont have to worry about their economy usually choices the Death Spike solution, which is quite pricy.
I prefer CDL at any given time. It's fast level'ing and if you are strong, you don't have to go all the way down to 50 HP. You can keep it at 300-600 and still two hit or risk it all at keep below 100 and one hit. If you are insecure about running around with enough HP to be killed of by someone using a Chrono, I'd suggest you try hunting in the cemetary, at the very beginning. Though the orcs there are social, all the monsters at the entrance are passive. Furthermore, at level 53, you will be able to get a rather nice quest from guard Coleman at the south gate of Aden.

So if you aren't afraid of dying you can easily do 1 and 2 hits all the way to 70 using CDL in the Aden area!

I hope this helps!
