Hmmm...It would be interesting to play like that. It would need alot of buttons though. For the F keys. YOu remember those old game systems? I cant remember what it was called. But the controllers had like 20 buttons and for each game there was this paper insert thing you would slide over the buttons. I think theres pc game keyboards like that now...right? with Guild wars inserts and what not. Something like that. But you move the controller around to move your toons and theres a button you hold down like your right click so you can move your camera around by moving the controller in whatever direction. For fishing it would be cool. But thats a given. Really I dunno DM. How would YOU desing it?
The Wii controller is the first step to 3d virtual gaming I believe. RPG's are built around the player immersing themselves into a new world. Being more apart of that world is the next step.
I couldn't see it working in Lineage 2 too well. But I could see it working in a fully first person rpg (no birds eye view).
However a problem is it's hard to work a keyboard around with a Wii controller but I find chat communication will die down and voice communications will be prevalent in future games.
I've played the Wii and the controller is a heck of allot of fun to use. I dont know how you would really add the controller system to L2 due to it would be more real time. i will have to think more on this
Anybody remembers Black&White game? You performed some spells and actions not by clicking on buttons or pushing keys, but drawing symbols with the mouse. Like something like R for water, circle for whatever ... Now imagine doing that in MMORPG: you hold some controller, and draw symbols for spells and skills. Imagine PVP with something like this - now that would really require SKILLZ because not only you would need to input correct symbol so the game recognizes it, but also remember what symbol does what. Of course sooner or later there will be some third party helpers to help you playing, but gesturing would be interesting concept.
