Hi all,

Im cerria, and my RL GF is Vecu, we started playing lineage 2 since 2 days ago :)
So far is going really well im level 15 fighter, she's level 10 mystic, im going the rogue route, and i think she's going the sorcerer route.. but she likes healing aswell so that can change by the time she has to make that descision.

Our gaming history is looong :) 3.5 years of DaoC, 1.5 years of WoW, and in the meanwhile a lot of MMO's and in between. eve-online, city of heroes, etc!
So far its been great.. allthough i cannot get a good feeling about the community yet.. some are very nice.. and well some.. seem like bots.. :S

So how is the game atm, is it still active enough to consider a start from nothing? grinding is not a problem, i dont mind it at all.. coming from DaoC ive seen many grinds :P

I have got 3 questions though:

1. money.. is it really this hard with cash as it seems now, and will that improve? @ level 12 my newbieguide told me to upgrade my sword to a gladius.. thats 68000 adena.. i had 10.000 at that time.
Im now level 15, still using the sword, and roughly have 35000 adena.. so before i can afford that thing.. well its goanne be useless again right?

2. clans
Any nice clans around willing to take two experienced mature players in? we reside on the Theon server (european)

3. skills
how do we know what skills to buy.. and what skills to not buy? its really confusing :) should we aim to buy and upgrade everything the trainers offer?

sorry for the questions :)
At lvl 15 you wont find many people because they move to new places really quickly, so dont worry, as soon as u get to Dion you will start to see alot of people. Answering your questions:

1) Money is easy if you know how. To begin just try and do some repeatable quests, there are some ones that give u 5K per return and can be done while out general XPing. Try and learn the Manor system that is run buy the castles. If you learn this and learn it well then you wont struggle with money much at all. Once u start to get some cash behind you then learn and play the market, there is some serious money to be made in this. Oh, and try not to spam soul shots, they are the biggest money sink in the game :P

2) Dont know, with the new clan academy system i dont see why there would be a few good clans willing to take you in. Once you complete your lvl 40 quest the clan gets an ammount of points ect.

3) Learn the main ones that you need to begin, if your going rogue then you want to learn your offensive skills 1st and the good passives. If your planning on using a bow then get your long shot passive and bow masteries and leave your dagger masteries ect. You will eventually have enough SP to learn em all so just get the basic ones for now :)
Welcome - started yesterday myself. I think money is a mess - but I was lucky to get some upgraded armor from a Clan I joined. Put a message on server board or try town for Clan - I think they get bonus for training new players.

No idea on skills sorry - still working on that myself.

Community has been OK on first 2 days - seen a few bots already tho'.
Thanks a lot! that clears up a lot of questions we both had
I will look into the manor system.. didnt understand it a single bit so ill give it a shot tonight :)

thanks for the welcomes!
who are you in eve?
In eve nothing special, played it 6 weeks or so.. stopped playing it last week because for some reason all of a sudden my routing towards eve servers was messed up, making me go trough a router with 50% packageloss and disconnections every 10 minutes..

good game though.

my name was "erinys" with Dragonian Freelancers
lol you were in NBSI academy.
Nah full name was "Miss Erinys" to be exact :) but never liked the name hence i refer to myself as 'erinys" but it was taken ;P
Go to lineage2.stratics.com. It got guides for quests. On Talking Island there are 2 quests for wearpons. One gives you a sword and another a magic wand. And you will also getsoulshots (for mele) and spiritshots (for mystics). They increase damage of your's attacks.
Thanks for the advice, we allready both did them :) that was the sword the newbieguide told me to upgrade the moment i aquired it, around level 11 haha ;)

just got a dagger though, saving for the upgrade, since im going the rogue route.
1. Money is always hard to get, but with a good clan with good people, you should be able to manage (the alternatives are cheating and powergaming, neither sounds all that attractive for you)

Check out http://lineage2.stratics.com for quests you can do, our content manager Elliebelly has recently upgraded alot of the quest guides for newbie town quests. (shameless plug of the site I manage, lol)

2. If you'd be willing to switch to the Erica server (I am european, and lag really isn't an issue there), you can join our clan, we have many new players joining (in fact, we only have 2 slots left in our academy) and we'd be glad to help you out with what you need, gear below 20 and clan armor above 20.

3. Generally always take combat and defensive skills first, but it depends alot on your class, if you join a good clan (like ours), I am sure they'd be more than willing to give you hints.
Welcome to L2, the best game ever made.

Also the toughest.

If you are good enough, come to Erica...best server and only the really good thrive.
Thanks both for your replies :) very helpfull indeed :) have gotten multiple pb's allready about clan invites, but atm im not looking into making a serverswitch (yet) :)

If i ever consider a serverswitch, and the chance is possible would we find our current server not good (like i said, havent had much feel about a community yet because of the lowlevel zone) i will take you up on the offer :)
The thing about money is that you really have to make the "earning" of money part of your gameplay.

You might sign in and see if you can find deals on the market and resell for higher prices.

You might use the manor system (others can go into better detail with that) to make your money.

But it will be difficult for you to just grind and make money. Some classes can do this but others, not so much.

You might also make a dwarf of some sort as that can help.
if youre looking for a moneymaking scheme that can potentially net a ton of cash as well as exp and levels i can think of only one thing for you and your friend to do but it will take a LOT of commitment.

later on today (as i finish the guide) i will post the Adena Multiplicity game called Marketplay. this will be in the guides forum (theres already a good one on exactly how to play the market i a thread called "how i went from 40k to 30kk...")

my guide will loutline several other methods of market playing that are excellent money making scemes that have worked many times in the past, and have helped me afford A grade at level 52.

then again, sometimes you just get a whole lot of lucky ;)
Well, do feel free to PM me if you change your mind. :) Its very easy to switch servers.
