I was recently enchanting my bow of peril, kind of hoping it would blow so i would have an excuse to buy a friends lol, and it got to +7 lol
It now has 466 patk and is slow attack speed, but what Im wondering if it or a +4 soul bow (very slow attack speed) would be better for PvE (on a hawkeye).
The Soul Bow has 19% more patk but looses 24% attack speed. for constant DPS it would seem that the BoP would be better, but in some cases having more patk makes it so you can kill mobs in maybe 1 or 2 less shots. So just wondering what people have found out from their experience if the more patk would be better than speed.
I was also thinking the faster attack speed would be better since reuse of skills like Snipe and Pain of Saggitarius are attack speed based.
The actual number of arrows per minute is virtually the same.
Slow bows have a faster shot time and a longer cooldown. Very slow have a longer shot time and a faster cooldown.
The difference really comes down to kiting -- slow bows are easier to kite with because you can move during cooldown but not during shooting.
Edit: That is without archer skills. I know archers have a passive speed bonus and I am not sure if that bonus applies to shot time, cooldown time, or both.
I'd go for the soul bow as well in PVP, in this case since the patk and pvp bonus is pretty huge between the two.
In my A-grade days, I used a +7 Carnage Mana-Up, I'd pick that over a Soul Bow any day :> Very slow bows makes me a dull archer, feels too slugish. SB has to be OE'ed for me to go the other way.
Focused A-grade bow.. hmmm I sense public uproar :p
I knew you would comment on the mana-up SA, so I had to mention it ^^ Mana-up is actually a somewhat useful SA for PVP (in c4), more than Crit bleed since things die fast anyways (except tanks, but those things are last priority since their best skill is to bore you to death :p ). More MP so you can use more stun-shots. Not so useful in C5 since we have that new mp-reducing skill though. You go OOM pretty fast when shooting at hard to hit targets.. and we have Draconic bow with Focus SA..
well i can't afford to + my soul bow so its +0 with quick recovery just for pvp and it works nice but i really can't tell the difference between having QR and not having QR? can anyone explain the difference for me please?
yeah i didn't think there was a difference with qr and not having it, but it's about the recharge time, takes just as long to shoot(your atk speed doesn't change) but you fire faster, say it takes 3 seconds to shoot an arrow without QR and 1 second with, and the recharge stays teh same at 3 seconds...
better for kiting
