There are some special commands (like %target ) that will allow you to play variables in macro chat - I'm not sure if %time is one of them or not.

you can only target 1 mob or 1 toon but not at the same time.
for example the macro i was talking about look like this :
"darkmotion is focusing on malineii"
then when another mob is attacking aonther player, it will look like this :
"nameless is focusing on slycutter"

I know people use '[Raid boss name] is targetting %target," with "Raid Boss Name" actually written out in the macro. I'm not sure about other things.

i think it has to be something like this
/target player1
/assist
#player1 is targetting %target
but you have to do a macro for each person you want to show the target of, dont think there is anyway to do a macro that picks 2 peoples names.
it is useful for raid bosses, as you know their name in advance, not too sure how good it is for pvp though.

In party - you can do %party1 (til %party9) is targeting %target.

just select the person or mob then use the macro
/assist
/the dude is targeting %target
