My clan has decided to attempt a Raid on Zaken, along with some friends. I wanted to ask a few questions. I've only been on one Zaken raid, it was a long time ago and it went very badly. (someone aggroe'd Zaken before 6am game time) Oh the piles of dead bodies on the hallway!
1. Does the DC bug still exist? The one where you would DC if you where looking at his ship at midnight?
2. After 6am game time, does Zaken still aggro on his own or do you have time to go find him and set up. (wondering if we have to buff in the hallway)
3. We intend to take 5 full parties with us with the level limit set at 58-62. (trying to maximize drop potential) Can you fit 45 people in that hallway? and will that be enough?
4. I seem to recall that Zaken has a minion or 2. Is that correct or has my memory failed me once again?
Any help here would be apprecitated, we're mostly hoping to just have a really good time with this and I would like to resolve any issues before we get out there if possible. If we get good drops that will be cool, we intend to have the auction right there on the spot. This, of course, is providing that we kick the old pirates butt!
lol I think you will need more than 5 parties since you can't use 78 buffers. (anything over 9 levels with get raid para/silence just for going inside the hallway.)

I don't think that's the case, unless it was changed in C5, since it's a big boss, not a raid boss. I was there in C4 and I was well above lvl 69. I didn't go in, but I stood in the hallway :p
they all got changed in c5. if you even so much as use a skill NEAR an epic boss in c5 you get raid silence. trust me, I KNOW. we took a party to zaken to ruin someone else's raid, and after that was done we decided to go take a look at him..

yes, tho I believe its looking at the door. just be on the far side of the bridge u have like 5 mins to ruyn everyone there.

He aggro's. But he can be on any of the 3 lvls of the ship.

mmmmmm, depends on the raid setup. Archers would be most preferable since zakan can port anyone next to him to any floor on the deck. I believe 3 high lvl parties (1 for each lvl) to find rescue and get the low lvls back to zakan would help
He has no minons, just mobs around where u fight him.
Long long time ago I did go raiding Zaken, but I dont remember much other than he hit hard, and yes he does have minions, but I cant remember how many.
Ah ha! Some useful info there. Thank you! Though I had always heard that you can not be on the ship when midnight hits. Hope we can get more infor on this. The last time I was on this raid, the door to the hallway stayed opened for 2 minutes and that was it.
We intend to build the parties with Bish/SE/PP/BD required. Every party will have one of these classes. Main tank party will have 2 SE's instead of one so that the tank and the Healer can be recharged. Party 2 will have backup Tank with rest of party being built the same way. All other players will be DD's with some nukers thrown into one party. Party 3-5 will have the same support players with all DD's no tanks.
My clan policy states that Bishops receive Blessed rez's (or minimun 75% rez from another Bish) when they get whacked so all of my party leaders will be carrying at least one. Even though the other 4 Bishops will be from other clans, since my clan is running the raid, they will fall under my rules, if they go down they get Brez'ed.
I can only hope that this setup will do the job. I don't really think you can stuff much more than 45 people in that little hallway.
