SR's Charm skill

Hi.
I want to understand how this skill works. U see, I'm 6x SR now and in curiosity maxed that skill to find out how it works (cause there is no one who can tell me some info about it - every SR I've met didn't learn this skill calling it useless).
So, on 6x maxed skill I tested it on mobs from light blue to dark red: all mobs were aggressive but didn't notice me before I use the skill. The skill was used with bsps. After using a skill all tested mobs starts to attacking me... So it's works like bad "Hate" skill (bad cause it's not chain mob to me wherever someone hitting it) :|
I've also tryed to "calm down" mobs after they aggroed me - failed too. So maybe some GM can explain me how I must use this skill or it's trully useless? :)
it's just failing...i sued it way back in the day (lvl 30's) to get around argo mobs, worked back then, maybe it has changed
Sounds like it is useless to me if it's failing on blue-white mobs that often
If I understand this skill correctly, it's not that it fails, it just doesn't work like trick or peace since it has a power rating. It's the opposite of hate. Hate adds aggression points to the caster and charm takes away, but if you can't take enough hate points away, the mob wil continue to attack you if you still have the highest number of hate points or if you are solo I guess. Like sometimes it's not enough to hate once to get the mob on you - it's not that hate fails, it's that someone else has more hate than the tank. Right? Or did I totally misinterpret this skill? :p

Thats correct, it has never worked like peace.

So, effective translation to its uesfulness: none (besides wasting your SP, ofcourse).
It can never completely remove you from the aggro list. It just puts you lower down the list than you otherwise would have been.

I suppose it could help reduce your chances to pull aggro on a raid boss if you use it periodically. Apart from that, not seeing much use.
When you pull using this skill, do other social mobs follow? :D
