Lineage Radio is proud to present an Interview with Associate Producer of Lineage 2, Tim Tan aka Ornery! For those of you who don't know who Tim is, he is the one responsible for bringing those official events that rock L2 and obviously helps to produce the great game of Lineage 2!
So if you have any questions that you want to ask the man himself, now would be the time! You can ask pretty much about anything in the Lineage 2 Universe or realm!
Questions about bots can be posted here BUT I ask that you don't name specific 3rd party programs or Alliances/players that you suspect use them!!
We are shooting for the interview to be the week after Thanksgiving and once there is a full confirmation on the date, We'll post it for you! Thanks again guys! Get those questions rolling!
great job on the events so far, they have all benefited the playerbase in one form or another, and the repetition of some events under new names is an awesome thing nevermind the whiners.
I heard that in Korea's mid-c5 patch they got the option to transfer a character off of their account and onto a new one, are their currently any plans to implement this in the North American version of L2?
ooh! Also, a lot of people have noticed the amount of bots greatly decreased. Are their any statistics of how many accounts have been banned recently like NC used to give? always interesting to hear 8)
How does it get decided which character models will be changed? For example orc and human mystics in particular got rather drastic stance changes in C4.
Events -
there were some events in Lineage 1 that were awsome, well received by the players and there seemed to be no downsides to the events. Is there any plans to brining them over to the Lineage 2 world or are there "other issues" that would prevent them from working in the dynamics of the Lin2 world.
Example: Pumpkin events - Needed a special pumpkin helmet to "see" the invisible pumpkins. Once found, you would smackie smackie and depending on if it was a super pumpkin or small pumpkin, the prize would be different. I believe there was also candy feeding like beast farms to the pumpkins to grow them.
The increased chance of boss monsters to drop rare items event.
Increased Experience event where the mops were the same but the experience was increased. These usually ran over a 2 or 3 day weekend.
(Disclaimer: I have a huge laundry list of things I would love to ask about, but this is just my current #1 burnin' question.)
Much of L2 is 'Level Dependent', such as drops, spoils, quests, Raid Bosses, mobs, manor seeds or just finding someone(s) near your level to party with. (The new cost of scrolls to remove the 'death debuff' is not helping thing either.)
Will there ever be a 'handicap' system so that players can temporarily lower their level for Item/Spoil/Seed Hunting or for more party/raid boss options?
L2 has already implemented a system to do this for fishing using potions. (Having to 'buy' this ability is rather irritating however. Enough things are hard enough in the game, that making them cost more is not fun.)
With the new "chronical" coming out and the new RB weapons that are in place with some crazy SA's ( might mortal on naga's dagger ) had anyone floated the idea of adding back the Might mortal SA to other daggers, just making it less of a %?
with yet another recycled event, players are starting to wonder what new ideas do you have?
I mean, it must not take much work at all to re-impliment somethingt aht you have done before into a game.
Im gonna have to agree on this question, and maybe add to it a little.
We all know the pollen event is one of the better ones and most people benefit from it, BUT where are the new inventive events? The battle tourney was good but only involved a few players. Most of the in game events involve doing exactly the same mob killing with an extra drop on the list as everyday game play. My question is this:
"Events supposed to be a break from the normal gameplay, or to enhance current gameplay for a period of time (say a multiplied XP weekend). Why is it that we see nothing inventive, maybe something that involves GM interraction for example?"
1. Currently, player melee characters have difficult hitting moving targets while mobs have no problem hitting characters on the run. Will this problem ever be addressed?
2. How is that proposed marketing push for Lineage 2 coming along?
3. If I stood in front of the NCsoft office in Austin, went through the doors, took five steps forward, spun around and looked at the spot just above the entranceway, what would I see?
4. Have there been discussions about lowering the monthly subscription fee?
There are a lot of new accessories coming in interlude, but there are still none that really appeal to me... any hopes of adding in some aviator sunglasses?
I have seen plenty of really good event ideas on this forum and wondered if these are every considered by NC. Although I enjoy the events that do happen and I realise that implementing new ones will take time it would be nice to see something completely new.
Question 2: With the alteration of the difficulty of raid bosses I have noticed (on my server) that the amount of raids have dropped quite a lot. I see raid bosses now that I never even knew existed.
To even this up a bit is there any chance that mini raid bosses could be brought back? I personally never tried them but they always seem to have a good response from the people on the forum when mentioned.
1) Are there plans to bring Lineage 2 off the little screen and to the not so little screen? (TV).
2) Lineaege 2 has a great backstory that is almost transparent in the player experience- are there any plans to incorporate the story of Lineage 2 into gameplay while maintaining the player-driven atmosphere?
3) If one train left San Franciso at 2pm and another train left Chicago at 3pm, has NCsoft officially given up on Prima Publishing yet? ^^
4) What do you guys think of those wonderful Stabby comics? :D
5) A sure way for a game to succeed is to position itself into pop culture. How do you plan to make Lineage 2 a household name in America and Europe?
6) How often does NCsoft communicate with nProtect about Game Guard for Lineage 2?
7) How do you propose to build up gameplay at the lower and middle levels so that the grind does not become the focus?
8) How often is the usefullness of individual class skills reviewed?
9) Do you believe the current Gate Keeper system (destinations and fees) is adequete?
10) Will other forms of NPC transportation be incorporated into the game? (perhaps a cheaper but not instanteous method).
11) How many servers do you expect to have for Lineage 2 by this time next year?
Did players who play SE as main pay less monthly subscription fee than other people? If not, then how come you didn't put in any new useful skills for them in C4 and C5, especially at lvl78 and after all the heal nerf?
Since clearly on the korean pts, you/nc didn't bother to design a new useful skill for SEs, except more nerf, will players who play SEs as main be given monthly subscription discount?
I will have to add my hello to the SE questions. This may be why so few actually want to play them. You have conituned to create a character that is less fun to play. Though without a doubt I can play mine and do, I will high five to another character more often than not.
So the question is at this point is NcSoft pushing the SE into a glorified Buffer and regenner? It is sad to see that they can not be played as a front character more and more.
Judging from all the fuss about class balancing in pre-C5 promotions, shouldn't all class be carefully balanced by now? Then why is facing a sillen saint in olympia still a lot like winning a jackpot of free points for *ALL* class?
How many of our suggestions posted in the Game Suggestions part of the Lineage 2 official North American website (lineage2.com so there is no mistake) are packaged and sent over to the Korean developers?
The interview is being conducted as I type, and is being recorded for a later air time. We'll let everyone know when it is scheduled for broadcast. Sorry for any confusion!
