I dont really see the point of opening a new European server when it's now clear that you dont give a #### about us...

We never get to participate in the Contests, we dont get the Epic Box, we dont get the 14-day Trial, and now we cant even play the game at all because the login box only seems to work with English keyboards !!!
But, hey, i'm sure some of you will tell me it's because of all the different laws we have over here, yeah right, i guess a new law has just been voted today by the European Comitee in Brussels, resolution XB952 stating that "European keyboards wont be able to login into the game called Lineage II anymore" :eek:
Your problem probably is due to gameguard. My understanding is that gameguard loads it's own keyboard driver when it fires up.
It does. I remember having to type in my username and password very slowly a while back. It's gotten better though. It's supposed to keep out keyloggers.
About this topic, I mean the original topic, I think that one of the most hardest thing to have in large scale customer support is consistency.
One person will tell you one thing, the other will tell you another. They either guess around out of their field or will just send you a pre-recorded message to end the petition. This is due to lack of information.
A nice social engineering exercise I offer my clients is to give me a name. With the name they give me, I call customer support and engineer myself into getting name, address, date of birth, account balance, detailed bill, home and work phone(with extention number), oh, and credit card number.
Just by hammering you can easily get it in about 3 or 4 calls, excluding drops due to ACTUAL security and consistency in support.
Actually I cannot complain at all about the way Mistryl is treating the german playerbase (Thanks Mistryl !).
And for the record, the 14-day-trial of mmorpg.com IS open to european players. You can sign up an mmorpg.com account with a german address (no fakes needed) and you can apply for a key and you get it.
I guess that was just a mistake of mmorpg.com as they seemed to think that europe was having an own universe of servers, when we are in fact part of the NA-universe. However the trial keys will not work with the korean or chinese version of the game, so that was correct.
I do not see NCsoft caring less for euopeans than for anyone else. The only instance was the contest, where only NA could participate and not even whole USA as there were a bunch of states excluded.

How long is this gonna take before it's fixed ? Are the devs sleeping on it or what ? And why did they even had to change it in the first place, everything worked ok until then ! Never heard of "if it aint broken, dont fix it" ? Will we get a refund if we cant play for, say, a week or something ?
NCsoft Europe is planning on releasing a new Chronicle 5 box very soon that should also include the Sayha's White Mask. The box is still in the planning stages, so I don't have many details yet, but there will be announcements made when the box/item are available.
The QA team and development team are also working on the keyboard issue. I don't know how long until it will be fixed, but the dev team is not "sleeping on it". Sometimes bugs just happen -- it wasn't an intended change, and we again apologize for the inconvenience.

I understand what you're saying, so i guess we'll just have to wait for this keyboard thing to be solved... And for the C5 Box to be released (well, i dont have to wait as i already got my Epic Box, i too am kind of a Lineage II fanboy sometimes ;)), and maybe next time we'll be able to participate in the contests, and get a free trial for our friends ?
Please just understand that it can be very frustrating to feel like we're... well, not "worthless", but you get the idea :eek:
European players were eligible for the Remix Contest, so I'm not sure what you mean about not being able to participate in contests? We're also looking into options for free trials in Europe but there is nothing planned quite yet for that.
Well, i was refering to the contest in which i would have loved to enter, the one about the videos :confused:
As for the free trial, i'm glad to know that you're thinking of it, i'd really like to convince my friends to try Lineage out so they could leave their crappy games and play a real one with me :p

Ah, I didn't realize you meant the Movie Contest. :) We are able to include more countries in contest eligibility now, so that should hopefully be some good news!

i do software. it's my work. And if i do a so big bugs on my software, trust me, my boss will kill me, and the boss of my boss too...
ok, it is programming of management of personnel, but for several tens of thousands of people... So only 1 bug is baaaaad.
I can't anderstand how they're programming, but when you do it seriously (without adding some lines here or there : i call that a wart), you can't change login system when trying to fix ingame bugs... Or they done changes they didn't communicated to us...
I anderstand they can try to modify login system to secure it agains 3rd program, but if they said us : "We changed login system to block 3rd programs", i think you could anderstand it could bug. But now : nothing, "bugs just happen".

The rules of the contest clearly states its not for Europeans. While you might be able to sign up, thats simply because of a problem with mmorpg.com, not because its really available to you.

How many non-english keyboards fully functions within the game and allows you to use all the keys?

Next time when the game is being tested, the QA team might want to try and change the keyboard input to non-US and see if it works, or even better invest in a non-english keyboard.

You would need an empty headed software team and an absolutely non-existing QA team to repeat the keyboard bug what should have already been reported for, say, Russian keyboards (and, I could guess, Korean, too :p).
But as long as it is nProtect, it should surprise noone.

Lineage 2 already has full Unicode support.
NCSoft NA just disabled it. :(
I know why they did this on NA servers (They want native languages like English and Spanish and even a little French thrown in), but I don't know why they didn't do it on Euro servers.

It's not like eBay'ing, as ncsoft get the cash. It's called marketing; You want the pretty mask, so you spend more money with ncsoft. It leaves no-one with an unfair advantage, as it's just an ornamental item.
It's only cosmetic, so I wouldn't get too upset about it.

The C5 package is mostly white with large, blue see-through "L2 Skis" and a faint impression of the classic female DE image behind. At the bottom, it should read "includes Oath of Blood Chronicle 5" with the official C5 logo.
This package is in-game item enabled if you follow Mistryl's instructions in the other thread.
As far as game time goes, this package has 30 days free.
Here you go, its in danish, but they do have Norway as their country listing and you can pay with Visa and other credit/debitcards without any problems.
