Drops for Dragon Slayer Edge and Rec?

Player Questions Started Last reply 20 posts
What mobs drop the 100% rec and the edge part? And are they spoils, or regular drops? Thanks for any help.
There are no 100% recipes
We got some blades from Falibati Queen I believe, 13 in one try.
You can also get the blades from the Stolen Ore quest, if you're lucky.
Hmmm, no 100% recs. OK, what mobs drop 60% recs?
it drops from following mobs

Alpen Kookaburra - Drop (Beast Farm)
Atrox - no idea where
Dark Omen Invader Soldier - no idea where

It's a lot easier to get the Recipe if you're a Royal Coin collector.
atrox at fod at night time
the other mob sounds like a cata mob
not worth hunting for recs unless you have a soiler, just use the coin quest
Dark Omen soldier is a rift mob.
By the way, I tried the Coins Of Magic Quest. Somebody at NC must have a very perverse sense of humor. I figure maybe by the time I get to lv 80, or maybe by the time I get my 1st sub up to somewhere 60 or higher, I might finally have enough %@&^# coins collecetd from mob drops to qualify for the subsequent quests that will get the A grade recs. How useful is that? I think if they did better on some things like that, this game might become much bigger in North America and Europe.
What are you talking about? The coins drop just fine and dandy. I had tons of coins after soloing there for about 3 weeks.
I got a recipe drop out in Vally of Saints, but I dunno what mob it was...they all look pretty similar to me, plus it was a few weeks ago so I can't remember...lol. Not much help, I know...but if you level out there you might get one...lol.

Multiplayer game....
Can you tell me where "there" is? So far, the only place I have found that has even a remotely reasonable drop rate is the Silver coins from the Mahums north of Ivory Tower. Overall, I might have 30 or so coins after spending lots of hours at:
Timak Orc Outpost
South of HV
Plains Of Glory
North of Ivory Tower
East of Aden
Cemetary
Formors by Ivory Tower
Dragon Valley

Any help would be appreciated.
There are 2 types of coins, for the 2 types of quest.
Quest #1(pre-requsite) "Coin of Magic" - lvl 40+
Quest #2(optional) "Lets Become a Royal Coin Collector" - lvl 55+

In order to get the A grade weapon recipes, you have to be a Royal Member.

When you do obtain lvl 1 Collector on your "Coin of Magic" quest, and run the quest called: "Lets Become a Royal Member", which starts at lvl 55, then you get the Coins that you would need to get the recipes.

However Untill you are a Royal Member, all the coins you'll ever recieve are: Blood Medusas, Gold Basilisk and Silver Unicorns, which are for the 1st quest - Coin of Magic.

Check this website on details for both quests: http://lineage2.stratics.com/

However, the asnwer to your question as to "WHERE" you get the coins for A grade weapon recipes, that would be in the Forsaken Plains region. All of the Orcs drop em.
OK, I'm sorry, I should have beeen more specific with my question. Where did you hunt that you got good drop rates on the coins for Coins Of Magic? If I understand right, you need to ultimatelt collect about 900 - 1000 of those to qualify for following quest that will ultimately get the A grade recs. And I have only been able to get maybe 30 -something coins with 10 - 15 hours of hunting in the grounds I listed above.
I think the best answer to that would depend on your class.

The only 2 classes I've done the Coin quests are on my Silver Ranger and now on my Necromancer.

On a Necro, I'm right at 200 Blood medusa coins, and I've only been hunting in VoS for about 2-3 days. Mobs don't matter, lvl don't matter, you can even kill deep blue mobs and still get the coins.

However, if you are playing an Orc, as your avatar suggests, than I can see how you can have problems getting the coins cause your kill rate is not quite the same to what an Archer/Nuker would get on a per hour ratio.

My archer had about 250-300 Blood coins in 5-6 days hunting orcs near Oren town.

Note: when I say "days", I don't mean to say I play 8+ hour marathons either. Sometimes it may be an hour, sometimes 4-5, but that's still counts as a day for me :p
Well, yes, I do play a Destroyer. Well, maybe I can still hunt for Blood Medusa in VoS and get a decent amount. I am very familar with not being able to level as fast as an Archer or Nuker. Thanks for the advice. (Timak Orcs near Oren seem to work great for many ppl, but I was only able to get a few there.)

You need 220 each of the basic coins to reach L1 collector level and be able to get the Royal Collectors quest. (Which allows you to get the Kail's Coins.) That is 20 of each for L2 collector and 200 more for L1. (220 total)

Once you are a royal collector you need 10 each of the Kail coins and either 200 (Low A) or 300 (High A) of the regular coins in addition to trade for a recipe. (Which type depends on the recipe you want.)

Note: The higher level the mobs you fight, the higher the drop rate on coins seems to be. (At least it appears that way to me.)

Atrox is FOD at night :)
I do appreciate your detailed information, PainAmplifier. Well, I guess I will make one other comment, I think the drop rate for this and other items, not just the kill rate, might vary with race and class. Some people have suggested this on the board. Also, when I started boxing a SE with my Destroyer, I started getting occasional drops of things I had never gotten. Destroyer solo seemed to ONLY get adena and basic mats. Destroyer with boxed SE gets occasional drops for various recipes, key mats for armor and weapons and occasionaly some boots or other parts.
What I find not quite right about this is that Destroyers and other tank types are probably one of the most expensive classes to gear up. Any tank type toon will generally have heavy armor. And a Raider/Destroyer will generally operate with a 2-handed weapon, and possibly also a pole. So, if NC does in fact set differing drop rates for the different classes and races, they should reconsider for Raider/Destroyers, and possibly for other tank types. (I well understand why they might set a higher drop rate for archers, since I've heard their bows are very expensive.)
