ok this game advertises that it has 14millino subs. world wide to put that into perspective, thats almost double the subs WoW has. ok when i played today on my 18 dark warrior i only ran into 2 ppl! the towns were ghost towns, noone around...leaves me thinking WTH...oh btw, im on the lionna server
I believe you misread it, and it reads that since L2 came out, 14 million people have played the game, including USA, Europe, Asia and whatever other contries had accounts in L2. I really doubt it means there are 14 million active accounts.

I don't play on your server, but most of the people are very high level on any server, and even when these people reroll new toons, with twinked out gear and buffs, they can blaze through noobtowns in a matter of hours.

The only time you'll see someone actually hanging around Noob towns are the very brand spanking new people to the game, cause they usually have no Adena/Gear to blaze through their levels.
it means how many accounts that have been created over the 3 years or so worldwide.

You can create an account and not even log into the game and it will be counted. As long as the account was created, it will be added in.
I don't know what you mean ... just by a quick look through Teon's Dark Elven Village, I can see lots of other player characters - r4tZ3r, Husaqw and jianrenshi, just to name a few. I'm fairly sure I've seen a Dwarf family there recently (all of their names starting with "xian" or something like that; that's how I knew they were a famly), but they must've moved on already.
The world has extended to immensely during the expansions it's not a surprised that you haven't seen anyone in the lower level areas. Once you get to the Necropolis's and Catacombs you'll find more people, and if you ever goto Giran town your computer will have convulsions on all the character models it's trying to render.

Haha same :D

Starter towns = ghost towns, wait until you get past that.

Yeah, I know its a bit misleading number, but as explained they mean total amount of accounts ever created. The current active subscriberbase is around 1,5-2 million players, with over 100.000 of those being in NA.

Also as mentioned, the game is huge and has had 5 expansions already, so there's alot of area that people can be playing in. In the new areas, depending on server, it can be hard to find other players, it gets better once you move on to later areas, join clans, try and do the quest to go to Giran, you will see lots of people there.

*points to sig* and check out the quest guides for your newbie town, they can give you lots of rewards.
yes. there are more areas and people are more spread out. sure, its not as much new players as it used to be, but its still plenty. our clan/ally picks up new players every weak. in the starter towns, most people only spend a feew levens then move on to gludin/gludio/dion
I am pretty sure they said NCSoft has had 14m subscribers, they didn't say that was all Lineage..

Lionna has plenty of people but few hang around the newbie towns.

Think about it this way:

There are five starter towns, out of seventeen total towns -- so almost 1/3 of the towns cater to players under level 20.

By contrast, levels 1-20 take up a very small fraction of your total gameplay, maybe 1% of your time will be spent on those levels, so the number of non-cyborg people at those levels is usually pretty small.

Further, subclasses don't need to play in those areas because they start at level 40.

You'll definately notice activity once you get to Dion and beyond. Giran is the bustling marketplace of the server, hundreds of people there at all times.
