Fishing question..

I' m new to the exciting (..but a bit boring..) world of l2 fishing.
The thing is i only wanna try it to craft my own greater potions nothing more than that.
Im currently 65lvl but i bought a c grace rod since i can get ss easier, i an mostly using purple lure and my fishing skills are 15lvl each.
The thing is i am using blue and yello potions to lower my skills and gain fish oil and greater fish oil but i cant seem to get any fish scale :(
Should i lower my skills even more? Should i get a rod of my grade?Should i change lure?
I need help cause i'm quite tired of trying different combinations of all the above..
not worth fishing for pots
It's better just to farm light blue mobs in catas for AA... if you aren't a healer.

since my cabal lost why not trying something diffferent? :P
You gain scales only during nigh fishing using luminous lures. Night is between 2400-0600. Another way is to see if the moon is out on the ingame map or type /time.
There is time being shown on map too.
You get normal scales durring the day time too, it is just the colored scales that you only get at night. Pots take the normal scales.

If you night fish you'll find you run out of fish oil from your normal fishing before you run out of scales, it's not just the colored ones that drop ;)

True, night fishing is better but you do get some normal scales durring the day.

Oops didn't see the part about wanting to craft pots the first time around.

For the OP. I don't recommend fishing for mats to craft pots unless you plan on doing some major afk fishing. You are better off going to a cata/necro then buying the items with the AA you get. Much faster, more fun, and you get levels.
