Quick BD question

I'm still learning about this class (enjoying it thoroughly) and wondered one thing.

If you are in a group and dancing what is the limit for how far party members can be before they don't get the dance?

when you cant see there name anymore when you look at them.


Example.

Your standing next to someone and they run 900 range away. You can still see there name above their head. They run further away and their name dissapears.

When you cant see the name, they get no dances.

bit of trial and error should do the trick but ppl really shouldnt be running away while you are danceing

It was seiges which was why people were running in different directions. As a rule they were mostly close to me, I just wanted to check the range roughly so I could shout if they got to far.

Strictly said, you are not completely accurate. Since mid-C5 patch you can "target" anyone in your party (it was done for summon friend thing), but people out of range will have clan/alliance information and wrong title/rank.

Generally I refer on mini-map (compass) helper. Your friend will be affected by dances if he/she is inside the circle of your compass. If someone stays on the border, he/she will be most likely unaffected.

Veansa is not talking about target range (which is a lot larger even for 'standard' targeting), but about visible name range when you play with names on.

I'm not sure how large that is, though. :p

Does range settings in Video settings in options, or low/high detail effect that too? Because when you have low settings, your visible range can be smaller, thus you cannot exactly say when name fades.

Siege is one thing, but when xp'ing you really don't want people running away from you when you dance, as the mobs tend to step over and demonstrate to you just how much they appriciate your skills as a dancer! :eek:

As a SwS I have noticed that songs land on them even when people are just out of "see their name even it they are not targeted" range. I do use that as the guide as to weather or not people are in range though - it is very close.

Personally, if I'm xping and one person doesn't get dances, THEIR problem.

If I'm xping and 8 people don't get dances, I need to find my group.

Siege - different matter entirely - - almost as much of a pain as getting the noblesse buff after I die.

Antharas - (C4 style) - Run to each individual nuker, dance for them ^^

From my own experience i have to agree with Veansa. Its until u cant see the name of the person without putting your curser on them. If they dont get the dances because u ran off you deserve it. If your stupid enough to run off when someone is giving buffs and u didnt get em too bad.
