I've recently joined this game, now a level 20 orc raider. Obviously there's a natural persuasion of wanting the best equipment.
Am I right that once you reach level 21 you can start wearing D grade?
Here lie in my question; how does a character get the decent gear. Atm I can see my char gaining levels at a disproptionate rate at which he would gear.
The only solution I know of is:-
1) Create alt chars, give equip from main, and go repeat collecting adena on all your alts.
I don't know of others, and a bit weary of creating a dwarf from what I've read about them and all the bots.
Come from SoR where you can be completely self sufficient / do anything.
You can reach D Grade once you reach 20, C once you reach 40, B once you reach 52, A once you reach 61 and S once you reach 75 or 76, I'm not quite sure on the latter.
Alting is a very good idea, but there are other things that can help you: The manor comes to mind, as does playing the market, fishing, questing (only the good stuff) joining groups with BHs, purposefully hunting in good money over good exp areas, etc.
I'm not sure what you have read about the dwarves, but they are certainly not all bots - and can be great fun to play. Blue mobs are like christmas. I was partied with Ledaa from these forums yesterday, and her dwarf pretty much dropped an enchant weapon C in my lap (value of roughly 1 mil atm).
You won't be able to get anything just progress forward using SS, potions and all that other stuff - in L2, gathering gear is a process that takes almost as much attention as gathering levels.
S grade is 76
gathering adena is just a matter of sacrificeing xp so you can grind out the yellow stuffin stead
manor is a good idea but first i suggest spending some time in giran to see what things are really worth
P.S dont play a dorf, if you cant make money on any other toon you wont playing a dorf either
To OP--your timing couldn't be better. Find the EASIEST TO KILL MOBS THAT ARE GREEN TO YOU and grind them up over the next few days of the Event!!!!!
All players are pretty equal during an Event like this--with some effort and luck you can earn pretty well.
Last squash event I got some great stuff (worth about 7 million once sold) and because I was furiously leveling low alts I had twice as much pollen and seeds as everyone in my clan at the time!
Even the "crappy" stuff from an event like this will sell and give you a big boost.
Read up on this one, participate, and KILL MOBS! You'll do fine.

oh **** i forgot
yeah man go out and kill the easiest crappiest xp mobs you can find
in fact it might be a good idea to delvl yourself a few lvls so you can kill even faster
back when i was a noob spellsinger my first event made me enough cash to eqip myself in full top grade gear, hope you have the same luck
