Abyss Walker or Phantom Ranger

Thank God for long weekends. I'll finally have time to get the youngest member of my team to C grade. But, as is typically the case, I'm torn: do I go dagger (AW) or add another archer (PR) to the fold? Thoughts?

I have a 50X HE already, but the HE is kind of, well, vanilla. The PR appeals because it yields more damage, plus it offers the standard DE fighter class skills (hex, drains, etc.).

The Abyss Walker would be a new class entirely. I've never played the class, but sense that I would like their ability to move and kill quickly. I do notice that there are a few dagger resistant classes in some of the hunting grounds that I've used in the past, and wonder if this is the case at higher levels (60+ and above). I'd appreciate if someone could fill me in on reasons why a dagger would not be the class to pick.

Thanks in advance.....
I didn't really start having fun on my HE until the mid-60s, when I got in the 70s he rocked. I'm glad I stuck it out. My sub is a TH and it went much the same way. Seems humans come to bloom late in life. :p

I have a friend who is leveling a PR, currently at lvl 74. I don't see a huge difference in the way they play as compared to an HE. I guess it depends on your taste and play style (he's a cross-dresser). ;)

Bottom line, go with something you're gonna have fun playing. Alot of times it's just plain aesthetics so go with your gut instinct. :D
Do you want to kite or fight face to face?
Believe me the glamor of drains and poisons dont mean anything on bows. so youll prob play the same as your HE except for hex and your slow (not so good land rate). An AW is pretty fun except that they r the lowest con and go down pretty fast. Hardest hitter of all daggers but it comes at a price. bows have the nice range thing going on but PR's have the lowest crit rate but yet again r the hardest hitters of bows. really up to you if u wanna fight ranged or face to face.

This sums up the dilemma perfectly.

I like to do both. Pardon my schizophrenia. :)

Seriously, my main is a mage, and powereful range attacking is what attracted me to the class. But as I played more and more, I felt that I was missing out on the real action. I ultimately rolled an SK just so that I get up close and personal.

Now I'm hooked on both forms of combat. I actually keep a dagger on my HE for those days when I feel too detached from the enemy.

But having played two classes of DE fighter types makes for bad habits. As crazy as it seems to have an HE hunting with a Kris, I find myself reaching for an imaginary "hex" hotkey as well. Yes, I'm losing it.

But maybe that's the answer. Might as well roll a true dagger class.

Thanks all.
