I've posted a bug down in the Technical forum, but since not as many people read there as here, I'm going to ask it here, as well.
Has anyone seen an Ice Storm Hammer recipe 100%? How about Star Buster recipes, either 60% or 100%? Does anyone know which mobs drop 'em?
I think these drops are bugged. Whatever is supposed to drop them, isn't. I'd like confirmation.
(as a complete aside: I believe it is LONG passed the time when NCSoft needs to re-index the drop table. things have been added/removed/changed as chronicles come and go, and things have gotten a bit unbalanced. take a look at the prices for A weapon recipes vs B weapon recipes for a good example. on Erica, at least, most B weapon recipes will run you about 20kk adena vs A weapon recipes for about 5 kk. something strikes me as terribly wrong with that.)
Weapon recipe drop rate have always been around 1/5000 to 1/20,000 so a very low chance.
You usually need to hunt on a spot to get the recipe for about 5-10 lv's to get them.
It's also very possible that it doesn't exist in game and weren't planed to either.
A grade weapon recipes have a "fixed value." That is, 10 of each kails coin, along with 200-300 of one of the lower types of coin. They also spoil and drop, so the value on some of the easier spoils or drops is much lower.
B grade weapon recipes, until recently, have only spoiled or dropped. The spoils are notoriously low, and the drops are also. The quest that you can get them through is very like the S weapon recipe quest, except the only reward is a random 60% recipe (Influx of the Machines.) They are simply harder to get, and are worth more because of that.
which is why I'm asking. I've successfully hunted down some other things so I thought I'd try to hunt down a Ice Storm Hammer rec for my dwarf if and when she makes B grade. since I hate 60% recs, thought I'd try for a100% rec. I expected it to be rare, what I did not expect was for it to be nonexistent. now I'm trying to confirm that it is, indeed, nonexistent. if no one here, across all 10 servers, has EVER seen one I'll take that as decent enough proof that it doesn't exist. since it will be the only B weapon missing a 100% rec, i'll take that as bug instead of "working as intended".
