no i havnet been editiing the file.. i added a ip number for some otherr thingss and now dont know what one is what

if adding other stuff into host file is not editing.. then what it is o.O

All you should have in the hosts file as far as IP's go is
127.0.0.1 localhost
Anything else put a # in front of if you aren't sure about deleting it. Like
#192.168.1.1 gateway

well then i guess im a real dummy .. cuz.. i didnt think adding someitng to yur host file was editing the lineage files

It's not but you can force l2 to authenticate to some other server which screws you for retail servers.

Other programs could have done this, some private servers change the hostfile during "setup" automatically.
Just search through your host file and delete any line with "lineage2" or "l2" in it
