A 'Nuke' in L2 usually refers to a Mages main damage skills which are slow(est) to cast, the longest range and do the most damage. Thus, a Spellhowlers Hurricane is a 'nuke' but Aura Flare is not. In practice however, most people refer to any mages instant damage skills as a nuke even the 'Flare' type skills. (They all do significantly more damage than a melee strike.) The only skills exempted are the DoT (Damage over time) skills such as Poison or Decay, the debuff spells such as silence or cancel and the 'Surrender' spells which don't do damage, but weaken the target to take more damage from the actual 'nuke'.
A 'Nuker' is an attack mage who's primary killing skill is a nuke.
Thus the 'nuker' classes in L2 are:
Spellhowler
Spellsinger
Sorcerer
Necromancer
NOTE: Although L2 has 'classified' a Necromancer as a 'Summoner' and not a Mage, you will almost never see a Necromancer played like one. Almost all Necro's use Death Spike or Curse Death Link to pvp and pve and as such are played as 'nukers' instead of summoners. (True 'Summoners' have to rely on their summons to do most of their damage and make kills.)
(True 'Summoners' have to rely on their summons to do most of their damage and make kills.)
true that. but the thing is pets being summoned consumes 30% or 90% of it's master's total exp.....so I guess no body would carry a summoned pet when pve..
Im curious, you asked in another thread about doing a 2nd job transfer and here you are asking what nuker means? In all the time you spent getting to 2nd job you never knew what nuke meant? why is that?
I don't know, nor can I answer for the OP, however, when I 1st started to play L2, it 1) took me till lvl 20+ to figure out what exactly SS/Bsps were for, and 2) it took me till about lvl 30+ to realize that I can buff myself(i played a dark wizard), oh and it took me till I was nearly 35, to realize the that animation on a weapon is produced by the activation of SS/Bsps and not the weapon ++ factor. At the time, I was very confused between the SS activation animation and the glow of a weapon.

hey I see you have a 6+ necro, how do u like him/her ?
I've played all of the Mystic types to one point or another. I love my Necro the most.
Human mystics have the same run speed as Orcs, 124, but I preffer the males over Females. I just can't stand how women look when they run, or some of their cloths, like Elven Mithril (aka: The Bannana Suit) or Karmian robes.
I love the versatility my necro offers. When I get bored 2-3 shooting mobs (buffs are a priveledge I don't always have  ), I can play with my summons and open up a can of whooparse on 2-4x hp mobs.
