Best Buffer?

Player Questions Started Last reply 30 posts
Lol another newb needs some advice... what is the best buffer...i'm looking for something that will buff myself and a friend blade dancer fairly well...as far as combat caps. go...

Thanks. :D
prophet is the best buffer but shilling elder got vampiric rage. both are good.
wc =)
wc is the best buffer
se is the best buffer if you need to keep you hp up (without herbs)
prophet owns in olympiad
Best Buffer = WC
Best Healer = Bishop
Best Healer/Buffer Combo = SE
It's not a question "who's best!" cause in my opinion one can't compare the buffers cause every class has his advantages and disadvantages.
Prophet is mainly a buffer with special buffs like Berzerk, Acumen, Haste, Blessed Soul/Body and so on, but he can only heal in emergency situations I would say.
Shilien Elder is a more offensive buff/healer hybrid with the special buffs Vamp Rage and Empower.
Elven Elder is a more defensive buffer/healer hybrid with buffs like Advandced Block.

So it's not a question who's best, it's a question what's good for you and your needs.
One can lvl without Empower and Vamp Rage cause of herbs, but in places where they don't drop you'll need ocaisanly VR or a healer.
One can lvl without Acumen and Haste cause of buff pots if one can afford them. Berzerk is more a can than a must.

So made your choice what's good for you and your situation.

WC are good buffers cause they can buff the whole groupe with just one spell, but they are missing some buffs a prophet or one of the others have.
WC
Prophet can buff and heal 2-3 people, just don't hunt in too hard areas.

Best offensive buffer is Prophet, they only lack VR for melee's, but it's no problem. For archers Prophet is definitely best, no need for recharge/heals nor VR. I foyu really need VR make a level 30 SO, level 1 will keep you going for a long time.
War Cryers migth be the best buffers... but they need have to be MUCH higher level before getting the buffs the other buffers get a lower lvls. If your very patient and dont mind have crapy buffs for a long while to have the best overall buffs latter on then go with the WC. High lvl WC > high lvl anything for buffs.

If you want a good healer/buffer hybrid, go with the Shilien Elder.

If your just concenred about pure buffing, and want good offensive buffs early on, go with the Prophet.

Note: If you stay in areas that drop the potions like crazy, and stick to easy mobs you can take down fairly quickly, then the prophet would deffinatly be the best. If you like to take down harder mobs that hurt alot , or want to hunt in areas where pots dont drop , then healing might be a propblem. In such cases the SE might be best.

Do keep in mind that the prophet pretty much has all the offensive buffs in the game. Latter on they get all the resist buffs ,and they have alot of specific buffs for different types of mobs/situations..... you just dont get VR. They do have some pre lvl 40 heals that should be just fine for healing 1-2 people in a normal hunting situation.
I'l take an WC/EE team for dungeons any day and any time.

WC got the most DD related buffs, they only miss ONE, and thats berserk spirit who I can live without for like forever due all the nerfs the skill got. Other then that I got every buff a single warrior class would like to have including VR.

EE because she covers the defensive skills WC doesn't have plus her excellent heals and mana handleing.

SE is awesome for nuker groups and duos with melees other then that I wouldn't say they are that great anymore.

Prophet is an excelent buffer for small parties, but so is an WC, and not only that, WC can leash out quite **** good damage to for small parties.

Bishop, best healer in game no question about it, but they lack everything else.

OL well sure they are buffers but they are mainly offensive in buisniss and you can only truthfully party with clan/alliance members, don't have that much to say about it.

Thats my input about the classes.
SE is the best, u can get acumen and haste pots
It depends on the class really o.O. SE is BEST for mages, prophet is BEST for archers, WC is awesome at higher levels but not something I would suggest for a newer player.
You guys really helped me alot thank you very much ^_^ I really appriciate it... ^_^

EE is best for mages if you can already 2 hit the mobs without emp
How do you figure? SE's have recharge, which EE's have, plus Empower. I don't know of any mage that would say no empower for me thanks, I want recharges only thanks.

eventually as a mage you reach a point where the best xp you can get is from mobs you can 2 hit without emp
EE has faster cast speed and clarity
Two-hitting would be with CDL or plain nukes? If it's the latter, in roughly which level ranges can you do without emp for a clean two-shot?
Please explain.

I've yet to get buffed with Clarity, but I doubt that could be a major advantage over Empower. Especially since EE's don't get that buff until they are almost A grade. That and Wild Magic are the only two buffs that I think would really appeal to mages. But SE's get Wild Magic, too.

Am I missing something?
If you are, I am too.
EEs do have a few % points more of MP regen, they have fast (and cheap) sleeps.

But of course, if you are two-shotting without emp, there is no point in emp - I'm just curious what sort of weaponry and level this is possible in.
ok i guess ill CLARIFY my post
at lvl 70 you can 2 hit mobs for 9-12k
9-12k is the best xp you can get for 2 hitting mobs
you can 2 hit without emp
EE has faster recharge and clarity (which lowers the cost of all skills)
EE would be the best buffer at lvl 70
<nudge>

What spell, and what weapon? :p I really want to know this. x)
Possible at lower levels maybe.

Possible at high levels without CDL and without Empower only under "in your dreams" type conditions.

I've had such an experience 2-shotting mobs "my level" with blessed sps and death spike. My SH was in Zubei and about level 64 or 65. I was 2-shotting Doom Knights without Emp. But let's not overlook the fact that I was also using a 197 m.atk weapon at the time. If you happen to own a +14 Ecliptic Sword with Magic Power, a +16 Ghoul/Demon/Deadman Staff or a +17 Homu, sure, it's possible.

Those rare prerequisites aside, I don't think it's possible at high levels to 2-shot without CDL and/or Empower. But if it is REASONABLY possible to do so, please let me know the particulars.
What tats did you have?

Great, thanks for the clarification. I might re-roll another buffer one day (as soon as I recover from class change quest burnout), and EE's did seem like a pretty good match for my SK, but I didn't imagine that I'd ever use it for my Necro or SH. Always helps to make an informed decision.

What tats did you have?

The standard

+4 INT
+4 WIT
+4 CON
Hmm. Time to wait for Nameless's details I guess. :>
If it weren't so darn expensive to get EWA's and top A grade mage weapons, I'd love to try this again with a +9 SOM/BOMT and Demon Set. One day...
been a while but lets see if i remember
necro with +4 int
lvl 72 at high vos
lvl 73 at fod

pretty sure you can 2 hit all those mobs without emp
i may be wrong but if i am try and keep in mind that the emp herbs drop fairly often so if you can nuke non-stop than you should have emp about 80% of the time anyway
also another +1 int should easily push you into the 2 hit range on a fair few mobs
What kind of weapon were you using, though?

And C: DL or DS?
