Can someone please give me some hints on how to play an orc mystic? I seem to have the most trouble playing this character over the others. I can't seem to figure out how to best play this one. Any tips are much appreciated.
All depends on if solo or group I have a level 62 WC currently and have found if solo leveling best way to play is a melee using blunt (or duals depending on pref) and your drains as a heal using heavy armor. If you're getting groups robes and some kinda buffing weapon is great.
If you are just starting out do the quests to get soulshots and stick with fighter weapons to begin with. I recently redid all the orc quests; there are two that give shots:)
What they said. I made the choice of going with Academy robes when I got to lvl 20, and I kinda wish I had stuck with armor. I will definitely switch back to heavy armor when I get to lvl 40. This is for soloing. When I get to higher levels, I will eventually have enough skils to start working asa party buffer, so then I will switch back to robes and a suitable weapon. (My aim is to go Warcryer.)
I just want to say Thank you for the advice. After making adjustments to heavy armour and duals, I am VERY much happier with this character. It is quickly becoming a favorite.
I am currently doing this for fun and for varnish (manoring) and have mine outfitted in heavy armor, shield and falchion. I don't use anything except buffs and soulcry and it's worked very well so far (lvl 16).
Orcland seems well suited to Orc Mystics and Shamans. I went to 25 in Orcland in robes, a shield and a sword, and it was fun that way also. But, to make a long story short, many higher level mystics use duals and heavy armors, and that is what I ended up with at level 40.
FYI, Cruma Swamps was very doable in acadamy robes, shield and Elven Sword. Field of Whispers, Crypts of Disgrace, Plunderous Plains, and DP were much harder, and I would really have been much better off with the heavy armor and duals.
