Never again....
I enchanted my only Top C-grade duals (Spirit*Raid) to +4 at first since I needed money and decided this worked a long time back for me, then I enchanted to +5 since no one bought and then I found a buyer. Yay me, so I buy another Spirit*Raid... and someone is selling EWC for 1 million adena, pretty cheap and I have enough to enchant a bit, decide to go to +4. Yay I sell it getting a bit scared to go +5 (almost did and wish I did too..). Now third time, this was definite, I knew I was going somewhere with the past luck, I decide to buy Raid*Raid since no one was selling any Spirit*Raid. I get to +3 and not even thinking about anything to break and then it hit me :eek:!
At +4 I broke :eek:! This took away all my money I worked for and now I can not even buy another top c-grade dual yet to level... I thought I was king of enchanters too :( .
That is my rant, I know there have probably been worse enchanting stories but I feel sick lol, no more enchanting for me. Will be afk for a while trying to sell whatever stuff I got in WH, maybe I will have enough for atleast some weapon.
Lineage 2 is one freaky game, could lose a whole lot in just one second :p.
You enchanted one set of duals to +5 and sold it for a profit.
You enchanted a second set of duals to +4 and sold them too.
You broke the third set and are now completely ruined/penniless/flat broke (sorry, pun)???
Enchants are not the problem. How you set your profit margin is.
If I made and sold two sets of duals, one of which was+4 and the other +5, I'd have enough to craft at least 2 sets of duals afterwards, depending on the grade. I would not be penniless after one failed OE.
But the real lesson learned here is know when to stop. 67% might be tempting, but you have to exercise self-control...especially on those days when you feel like you can't fail.
Hummm...
Sold +5 and +4 and still not enough adena to buy new set?
Lets see, this on Gustin, ymmv.
+5 would go for easy 25 mil
+4 would go for 20 with a medium sale time
45 mil there. 14 mil for duals (from players) + 4 mil for enchants = 18 mil. Leaves me with 27 mil. + the crystals prolly sell for 2900 each.
I too have been a victim of a lack of self control when enchanting. I can't stop once I start.
I saw someone once with a +16 Demons Fang. He said the trick to getting it was to sit in a church and wait 5 minutes between enchants.
Sounded like utter b***ocks to me, but I thought I'd give it a go. Anyways, my Staff of Life got to +15 and I was so sure I was onto a winner. You can imagine the swearing when it shattered on the next enchant.
Stay away from the OE crack pipe people, it ruins lives and friendships.
I want to try to make something +16 sometime. It will have to be when Im level 80 and have all my gear. Then maybe I can afford to do that to a d grade weapon. But would be cool to get that red glow. I wonder how the stats on a +16 top D weapon compare to a b or even a grade weapon. Anyone know?

+16 Staff of Life = 132 P Attk 130 M Attk
+16 Homu = 198 P Attk 188 M Attk
+16 SoV = 227 P Attk 209 M Attk
the hardest thing to enchant i find are one handed magic weapons... everything else goes up pretty easy ( to +7) anyway. i've only gotten one thing over +7 and that's my +10 soul bow, and i had to put an sa on it so i wouldn't try and OE it anymore.
Last night i made a +5 OPA, +4 Cgrade bow, and +7 OPA, blew it going to +8...i knew i should have stoped at 7

4 minutes and 59 seconds is not 5 minutes- that's why. :p
sidenote: got my tsu/sls to +4 and stopped. My only failure was trying to +4 dual kats . . . my poor, poor kats . . . *sniff*

Thats funny I do my enchantments in the Giran Temple sitting in front of the bishop (or whoever the guy is in the far end of the temple) with no weapon or shield equipped.
Okay I sold first one that was +5 for 26 mil right?
I have to buy another pair for 17 mil and then enchant to +4 which costs 21 mil. So I have 5 mil right now left.
I sell second set for 25 mil and so I have 30 mil.
I buy a third set for 17 mil again, and buy 4 enchants which is 4 mil, so 21 mil. I broke that so I am left with like 9 mil + a 1361 c-grade crystals. I only ended up having like 13 mil or so and have to make another 4-5 mil to get my top c-grade again. And now trying to sell whatever I have in my WH (a few EACs but don't think I will have enough).
I want to continue enchanting though ^_^. Was such a great way to get money since each time I would make a profit of like 3-4 million adena.
Once I get enough money and maybe once I get enough to secure my character even if it does break, I will do it in the Giran church place, seems like semi-good luck to you guys.
You Should however do this instead:
Buy Stormbringer x2
Cost:
Dcry (2865x2) Price for these should not be more than 900 so total: 5 157 000
Ccry (573x2) These you already got from breaking. but say you buy some for 2900 each. Total: 3 323 400
AA to upgrade with Mammon BS from Stormbringer to Katana, Raid or Spirit: (696k aa x2) total: 1392000aa x 4a = 5 568 000a
(I don't know the prices for aa on your server, but on Gustin sell price is 4a, you can probably buy for 3a)
Remember, this is BAD prices you can get it cheaper (Dcry, Ccry, aa)
So the total
Dcry: 5 157 000
Ccry: 3 323 400
AA: 5 568 000
Total cost for 2x katana: 14 048 400a
To make them duals: I don't remember exactly but a wild guess 900 something Dcry and 68k adena. (someone correct me) Lets be mean then and say it's 1k dcry @ 900a each =900k a
Total price for Top C grade duals: 15 016 400 adena.
Once again These prices for crystals is HIGH. You could most certain with some patience get them down to below 14mill
if you did that the first time you would have at lest 4 more mill now =P
Tarifa, that is such a great idea! Maybe I should have done that at first :p. Good thing is I sold all my c-grade crystals, sold an EAC, and I got like 16 mil. Someone was generous enough (considering certain prices for top c-grade duals) to sell me for 16 mil :). Now time to get back to leveling in Catacombs to raise more money so I can get B-grade since I am semi close.
I keep wanting to enchant though right now lol but I know I shouldn't. I won't with these duals, but maybe later. Enchanting is so much fun yet so risky^_^!

And there's nothing quite like weapon scrolls that drop during events. Last night:
Homu: +0 ---> +10 (consecutive enchants) SOLD
Dark Screamer: +0 ---> +9 (consecutive enchants)
Homu: +0 ---> +10 (consecutive enchants) SOLD
Dark Screamer: +0 ---> +9 (consecutive enchants)
**** I envy you. my last 15 enchants is like this.
Top D. broke going to: +4, +4, +4, +4, +4, +5, +5
Homu broke going: +4, +4, +4, +4, +5, +6 (this was an accident... enchanted the wrong sword :confused:)
C-Duals broke going: +4
SoV broke going: +4
This means the higihest enchanted weapon i have ever had was a homu +5, wich i broke...
The highest enchant i have now is a brig helmet +5 on my alt. (mind you, i used blessed enchants on it, if i hadn't it would have broke going to +4 the first time)
Wonder when my luck is gonna come. A grade maybe :D :D :D

I've heard quite often that mage weapons have a harder time succesfully overenchanting than the average fighter weapons.
I know there have been people who or a large sum would promise to overenchant weapons to +10 and sell them then, but ONLY for fighter weapons. They'd usually get a nice bit of profit, being quite succesful.
Now, that said, using the Blacksmith of Mammon, you can exchange certain overenchanted weapons to other ones (with the enchantment remaining). Which means you are able to overenchant certain fighter weapons and then exchange to weapons like the Homunkulus Sword.
That said, I believe overenchanting dual swords is also harder than normal 1-handed fighter weapons. I don't know about 2-handed fighter weapons.
Please note that this is what I heard, albeit from quite a few people. It doesn't neccesarily mean it's the truth.
Tarifa or OP, what is giran's tax ratefor your servers?
@5% on Hindemith
D Crystals are 633 = 3,621,360a (make your own)
C Crystals are 2882 = 3,302,772 (make your own)
AA @4 = 5,568,000 (as tarifa said, this can be mitigated with your own hunting)
Worst case sitting in town, top c duals = 12,492,132
That is with extravagant aa costs. The EWC you can also make on your own from mammon. 1m for ewc is ridiculous. If you didn't know, now you do.
I only read the first post and am responding to it, so excuse me if I'm off topic. I hate lineage 2, and at times I think its the greatest game on earth. Thats what makes it so addicting. I lost everything with a roll of the dice like you did it seemed, but I got scammed. I'm not blaming anyone, or annything, it was my fault. I accept that. It took me this long to realize though that a good community makes it worth playing. I hate botters, and scammers like everyone else. But play the game for what it is, and do it until you stop having fun. When you stop having fun, you know the game is over. Well, at least thats what I kept thinking, and I've been playing for three years now. Get involved in a clan, with good people. And just have fun. Drops are suppose to be rare, mobs hard, pvp exciting, enchanting unpredictable, and players ....welll will be all different just like in real life. I live and die with this game now. Been playin for three years.

15% atm so a bit more than your calculation, + i don't have my own dorf for C crystals, and i don't trust ppl i don't know :confused: (slightly scammed once)
