The sword of valhalla is B Grade - it will make your spells fail quite a bit, constantly putting you at risk.
Use the demon set with a homun (or a top grade staff if you're not too concerned about cast speed - but for an SH, it's always good) until you can no longer one shot green mobs. Then grab a cast speed set (karmian or avadon) and use that until you can no longer two shot - at that point, it'll be time to move either into NM robes or just stick with DC.
Well it depends if you like the high damage output or just like to spam out spells fast.
As sorceress I've been in Demon set from C upto A grade. I have tatts of Int, Wit and CON.
The wit reduction hasn't really bothered me while hunting mobs as the output of damage was very good. I still believe that for any casting class the demon set is very good set. Karmian is more something I would give to a buffer/healer.
On the weapon aspect I would not be able to give you advise as I never used a sword as caster. I've always had the staffs to help me on my raiding journeys. But I'd say to go Acumen to compensate that last bit of WIT you loose from demon set.
But as stated before it really depends in what direction you want to get your gaming experience. Though I think to recall from previous topics like this many will suggest Demon.
PS: Mind that I never play the game to be UBER so my set-ups might be looked upon as silly or even pathetic. But that's just how I play and it doesn't mean I suck at what I do ;) I just play it differently
Yeah, demon is a very solid set - it takes care of the need to get B Grade at all.
Though as a sorcerer, if you want to group, you've very little excuse not to push for every last point of cast speed you can get for SC - or you could go ahead and wear nightmare robes and then wonder why your sleep is so slow... like someone has done. >.>
PS: For a sorceress, NM in A Grade is a must, even if you don't get the helmet. These robes are hot!
Valhalla is B-grade weapon and has no Empower SA. Empower SA is much weaker than +4 Int. Acumen SA is +15% cast speed (and it can be used together with Karmian and Wit bonus).

Well don't know for a SH but as sorc. I've always been able to keep on two shooting mobs in my Demon set and Sage Staff. I've had it till A grade kicked in and then I went for Nightmare. As I stated before, I never go for the Uber thing of the game but for what goes with my playstyle ;)

LOL....I'm already in NM ;) I do know what the nerf means and I'm still capable in doing it very good ;) Then again I'm always surrounded ofa great team of Wolves :)
Yes those are indeed my clanies and we are a tight bunch...Then again this is what the game is intended for ;).
But we are drifting off topic here. The OP is asking about the sets specs and if it's doable, not about how I play my game ;). If you would like to exchange thoughts on that further you are most welcome to pm me.
Well, it is on topic - if you've got empower available at all times, the situation obviously changes drastically in terms of what is preferable - without empower, the borders for one/two shots are pulled significantly farther forward, making cast speed sets more viable.
Cast speed sets also start to make MP management (BtM) easier if you don't have someone there to recharge you anyway. :D
Well ofcourse i meant Sword of wispering death.
yet i mean, if acumen = 15% casting speed, then homunulukus=karmian, then the only difference is +4 Int vs. Empower.
Does anyone know what will give me most m.atk? Empower or +4 int?

Well empower does make the difference between 2 or 3 shotting stuff.
I don't really see how a casting speed helps your MP management (talking about any lvl of BTM here) cause you drain yourself out of MP so fast, it takes ages to regen it.
A normal INT set for a nuker conserves the MP way longer, and makes the life of the recharger (SE or EE) a lot easier. The herbs offer a great help though so if you hunt in regions were herbs drop you should never run out of MP anyway.
Imo a casting speed weapon + a Damagedealing robe set is the best way to go, with or without buffer at your side.
In any case joining a clan with some buffers/healers will do you good in cash and xp/sp ;)
EDIT = a +4 INT will give you way more M Attk then the SA Empower can ever dream off.
You can freely mix and match - effects from weapons stack into effects from armours.
The empower SA is not worth the dirt under your feet. If at all, you want to consider Magic Power, and even that is of very doubtful and limited use.
+4INT will by far outstrip the Empoewr SA, and in many cases even the magic power SA (without demanding 15% extra MP on nukes), especially on a dark elf, which I believe you are.
The homunkulus is a firm recommendation.
However, whether you choose Karmian for extra cast speed or Demon for extra ouch is independant of this decision.

No, once you get to the high levels of BtM it does start becoming worthwhile if the cast speed set doesn't make the difference between one or two or two and three shotting - it's a matter of chosing your spot carefully.
You might not want to -10 your MEN - I've personally not noticed wearing my cheap tattoos, but some people say that -2 MEN marks a noticable loss in MP regeneration.

It sure is...Orvieta was first +4 Wit -5 Men and +1 Wit -2 Men, now +4 Wit -4 Men...
Ok it was -3 Men difference, but the MP regen loss is suddenly too much.
Maybe too much of my pacing changed when I changed my tattoos on Mielle - but I did not notice an improvement in MP management when I removed my +5INT/-5MEN (+3/-3;+2/-2) ... at all. I still had to start sitting at the exactly same point in the servitor bar.
With -7 Men I had to use MP potions...with -4 MEN, not only my MP pool is bigger, regen is 14 a tick instead of 11 a tick, so I can save on the expensive MP pots.
I really have no experience with summoners, all I know is that it works for me.
3 whole MP for 3 MEN? That sounds very far off what I've experienced. Are you sure this did not come in conjunction with a ding into a new level area for MP or a new passive?

Only difference was the lvl 64 instead of 65. No MP related buffs, nor new passives (be it lvl up or new ones), nothing.
At ToI 5 I regen at 14 a tick where it was 10 a tick with my previous tattoos.

This is Correct in the case of the OP...but not for a sorc ^^ That is why I didn't want to move further in the yes or no discussion on that as the OP is SH and I'm giving general info as Caster. The BtM on SH does bring a great deal of support once the right level of that skill is acquired :)
They're not equivalent, Spud - the clean SoM is MAtk-Equivalent to a Homu+10, and then, of course, it still has the PvP damage and much lower shot weight allowing for more consumables carried.
