I'm about to do sub class soon and i wanna make an archer.I'd like to know the pros and cons of each archer class in pve and pvp terms.
Since i'm about to sub class my buffer too (2nd account) i'd also like to know who's the best healer/buffer for an archer
HE / SE slave

pros: quiver of holding increases CP potion/hp potion carryability. average firing rate (but self buffs and potions make that a negligible difference between all archer classes of equal level). high HP sans equip/tats. hard to stun.

cons: few. cant think of any off the top of head.

SR / SE slave

pros: fast shooting. lots of crits. super runspeed/evade.

cons: low HP, weak patk by comparison.

PR/SE slave

Pros: HARD crits, super runspeed/evade. btm (se slave is for buffs only, no need for recharge). and great lowHP attack, deals HUGE damage.

cons: low potion carryablitiy. may not survive long pvpwise.

overall: HE/SE makes last longer in pvp, even tho your SE will get dead first. since HE can carry most, more potions can be carried.

thats the ONLY reason HE > all.
Greater Might, Zerk and Holy Weapon are totally irrelevant.

gimme a prophet that can recharge, and i would box one.
thx spudnik, that's exactly the kind of answer i expected.I understand your point of view about HE but i'm getting excited by the PR speed and dmg.
What surprises me more is that you don't mention Prophet as buffer,i always thought it's better for archer buffs but i'm not an expert for sure

see previous post.
I run a HE/SE Duo and it works well. With Cheapshot on my bow, however recharge is hardly needed. The reason I didn't go PP, is because I use my buffer for crafting, helping out clan members and leveling alts. SE is more veratile in more situations than PP.

If you are an alt-aholic or plan on rolling a mage or any mele, SE is the way to go. You can get Haste in a bottle, but you can't get recharges, empower or VR so easily.
having a second look at PR cons i had a crazy thought.Maybe an EE with recharge and Decrease weight buff would do any good as healer/buffer?
EE doenst get any offencive buffs and for that its pretty useless to box one. However live EE is really sweet to have :)

A very good combo is a PR with dex tats and a prophet as a buffer. Cheapshot and herbs make it so you will never need to recharge.
VR from the SE doesnt work for archers anyway.

Also, your prophet gets return. I like this skill incase an enemy comes by or some other trouble. You can save your buffer easliy with this skill and saves the cost of a BSOE
actually PR doesnt really need recharge, since pain of saggitarrious. this BTM for archers works quite well. using this, i would say box an PP instead of SE. you get better buffs and you wont need a recharger :p

Another pro for HE = We get B2M too...
yes, but you dont get fatal counter. so boo for you.

pr ftw imo LOL!
PR with Dex dyes? +5 STR is all he needs, screw dex, HP is low enough unless you want max damage and zero hp.

Only archer that need recharges are SR's, HE and PR can keep their MP up pretty decent with Pain of Sagi.

Prophet has zerk, holy weapon and greater might which increase damage by ALOT, since recharge isn't needed, PP > SE in just about any situation. I use a Draconic bow focus and got practically no MP problems. Also if you hunt in areas that drop herbs, you'll never need recharge..

Healing isn't a problem with a prophet, since you won't take much damage, most of the hp loss will come from B2M anyways. Pots or herbs solve that, if that is even needed.

As for the archers, PR is by far the most interesting archer, with a nice assortment of magic and skills. Hex just rocks, combined with high run speed it's a pretty great archer. I'd make one if I had to do it all over again.

HE's are just too slow to excel in PVP where speed is essential, kiting, taking potshots, running away. Dash doesn't help much once they catch up again. But that's about their only limitation. 1v1 against the other archers HE's has the highest chance of winning, it's alot about luck too (and how many pots you carry lol).

SR's are wussies :P OK OK they're fast and run away alot :O

HE has the highest attack speed
I'm new still, but I'm just curious why everyone seems to bash the elf classes. plainswalkers, Silver Rangers, EE's, No one ever seems to think they are the best at anything, and in fact most people seem to think they are the worst. Why is that? ^.^
They are considered the worst now cause everyone has their own armada of buffers. There was a time when self-buffs ruled, now.. they are kinda useless.
oh, it seems kind of odd to build classes so that with buffs they are completely obsolete, maybe its just me ^^

err I didnt mean this in a bashing your comment kind of way, just a more "I don't understand why something would be created that way" kind of way :) I've seen lots of your posts and you seem nice, I didn't want you to think bad of me ^^

on their own, PW, and SR do well. even ES and SS are very good at what they do, and can deliver a clobbering like no other.

that is of course in a fair and reasonable controlled environment.

once classes hit level 40, the buffs, stats, skills, and equipment are all variable; it is at this point though, that many classes are NOT compared. it is at level 78. with this armada of available skills, weapons, armor, and buffs, the comparison of stats goes bananas. no longer do we see differences in two digits, now we see differences of 3 to 4 digits.

an SR lvl 78 CAN be unbeatable in pvp, its a matter of a number of things including more than was mentioned before; it includes player skill. the knowledge of when and where is a MUST for anyone wanting to make themselves the best. it is NOT a matter of class. there are times, places and manners when an SR can kill an HE. that all dempends on the nut behind the wheel. not the wheel itself. what good is it to be a ferrarri if your driver is a horse?

strictly speaking, and regardelss of who is playing, the classes can be compared by stats, skills, etc. and on THAT basis, most elves just fall short.
SR's aren't bad, they just have low patk compared to the other archers, so that means they need to get into 600 range with rapid fire to have comparable damage. Comparing archers against each other is kinda wrong way to look at it too, it's ALOT about luck when it's 1v1 archers, stuns and crits decide the battle. HE's have the advantage of more HP, so that gives them an edge.

However as I mentioned, speed is important to beat many classes, this is where the HE comes short, in low buffed fights. Fullbuffed any archer is extremely leathal. This is why this game is so messed up, an unbufed char isn't even close to dangerous, while a fullbuffed one is 100 times more dangerous..
