Hi, I have been using the search thing, but apparently kind of stink as a ton of hardly related topics come up with it. But I have researched a lot of the classes..anyhoo!
I tried a Shillen Oracle, and while I enjoy the heals, I did not enjoy how herbs made me feel kind of useless, i mean they are 3 times better than i will have until im 52 or something, which seems kind of far away being that I'm only 28. I also didn't really enjoy how badly I felt I was doing in kill rate and being able to do things without a group. That having been said, I'm not really sure long term a buffer/healer class is in my best interest, especially after reading how long this game takes. All of that, coupled with the fact that on the server I am on (gustin) I hardly ever see anyone my level, much less people looking for a group. If any of this seems wrong, feel free to correct me, and I'll consider giving it another try ^.^
Moving on...I had a nice sensation when I crit a disrupt undead for 3719. And so I think I would enjoy a DPS class (as most tend to in mmos!) But with all the other L2 lingo in so many posts its hard to understand :) MM or DW or whatever else they may be saying! Anyway..I was considering a dagger class, a bow class (but they seem expensive and farming is hard enough so I don't know how well that will work out either, once again I wouldn't be asking these things if i wasn't looking for Ideas/corrections!), and a spellhowler or a blade dancer. I would really like to be wanted in high levels, especially in PVP encounters as lets face it, PVE tends to get monotanous in all games, and its nice to have friends and some other things to mix it up!. One of the things I noticed was, the elf dagger char gets absolutely no hurrahs! other than at being a griefer, so If thats not true, i'd really like a positive post because everyone else seems to be go Treasure hunter, or Abysswalker! booo plainswalker. Eeevil!..Sorry, I definately prefer elves and dark elves to the other races, and would have a lot of trouble being convinced to play a human because..well frankly I can be a human girl everyday! Theres no need to play one in a fantasy realm. :)

Kind of a big movie, its DLing though. But I'm still not sure how someone could be both classes O.o, and still not sure if I have the money to be a good archer with their soul shot cost..
You mention how long this game takes. Just so you know, there is no real end to it. If you are looking to "complete" this game you maybe barking up the wrong tree. To get to a pvp lvl where you can feel like you are not just getting mowed donw all the time may take you the better part of a year as a casual gamer.
From what you mention here(liking dark elves), I would suggest the Dark Elf Blade Dancer. They are not the best at pvp, but I think you will have lots of fun playing one. They are always wanted in groups and they can solo pretty good too.

I mean, yes, the class listing of skills shows what they can do, the buffs and all, but I don't know the intricacies..spelling? of the game like dyes? or tatoos or whatever else I see people keep mentioning ^^
Kayo's toon Vina started as a Human Mystic and is now sub classed as an archer class. Kayo is also in one of the biggest PvP clans/alliances on Erica and quite good at PvP.

First, dont waste too much time or adena on dyes until you are atleast 40. The BD is an attack style group buffer. They have decent sword attack with their 'dances" or buffs. Some of the buffs are very usefull to the group because they stack with other buffs. Mages love BD's in the higher lvls. BD's wear light armor, so their defense is not too bad and they dont need alot of adena to solo either.

A BD is wanted for parties because when they buff they buff the entire party at the same time. Most BD's seem to go for speed and strength as they aren't the best tanks in the game. Blue Wolf heavy for B grade and Tallum Heavy for A grade seem to be the standard for armor. Unfortunately dual swords only get their special ability (SA) upon being enchanted to +4. Anything above +3 could destroy the weapon. Most BD's go for duals that give an increase to attack speed as their SA. And finally tat's or dye's. +5 str -5 con is the norm. Possible additionally +4 dex and -4con. This makes for a hard/fast hitting setup, the drawback is rather low HP and getting stunned a lot.

No, go for duals that give an increase to Critical since the critical damage dance will make you do a helluva lot more damage if you crit, and you want to crit often. Most BDs at Cgrade use +4Spirit Sword* Raid Sword.

Add a dex tat and it will increase your crit chance too. I love high crit rates hmmm, good.
I don't see how they would play similarly but I don't think I can make it through palus knight to be a BD, I think I'm going to try an archer or dagger of sorts, I held a bow for a little while and really enjoyed the big numbers. ^^
