my friend just IMed me and asked "What this Lineage 2 thing in my profile is" so explained it to him, and he wants to play it!
new players are still around i guess :p
i didnt lie to him at all :p but that doesnt mean i explained all parts of the game....
i told him it was alot more hardcore then WoW and he liked that
Wow, you're a mean one, Mr. Grinch. You'd think I didn't put that smiley in there to indicate that I wasn't entirely serious...
Anyway, it is pretty lonely when the only other players one sees are the ones with gibberish names that don't talk to anyone but are happy to steal your loot when it drops off the mob you were just killing before you can pick it up. I suppose your superior friend-making ability might also be due to the fact that you've been playing a while whereas I'm still somewhat new and haven't found where everyone's hiding yet (though my guess is mostly at way higher levels than myself).
However if the other players are as "friendly" as you seem to be, maybe I should count my blessings that I haven't met any of them yet. Thanks all the same for the warm welcome there, Sparky. /sarcasm
It is definitely difficult to find people to group with at lower levels. Sometimes I can go hours w/o finding someone for group/duo/raid. I had initially tried to get a friend of mine from FFXI to come play with me, but she can't run the game on her PC. :( Now I kind of have a hard time continuing. I just keep telling myself there will be more people around with whom I could group, once I hit 60+.

Getting a clan that has members around your level is a sound advice i think.
Or they dont even have to be your lvl; when no one is online exept lvl 67+ players in my clan i join there group anyway; its not all about the xp ;)

I can't stand feeling the leech part in high level groups - thus my decision to make healers this time.
If I somehow manage to push them to 56/58ish, I'll be useful no matter what - and useful doing my job. It's painful to be relegated to "30% extra MP for everyone else" when you rolled a DD.

Yeah healers are almost always useful. I'd reroll as one, except I find the class boring to play. Maybe I could suffer through playing the dark elf healer chick, cause she's hot and stuff. :D

You shouldent really fell like you are leaching when you are hunting with friends/clan members. Atleast i dont think so when low lvls join a group off people my lvl.
But its true a healer is allways whanted in a group after a certain lvl.
Man.
Lineage 2 is geting easy each Chronnicle.
The big tip is join a good clan and be nice.
I get help on my all chars.
I got weapons, jewels, etc.
All clan need a good player.
Dont wast your time hunting alone.
This is a MMORPG and a lot of fun you only can play in a good clan.
Dont play looking all time to exp bar
Dont leave party because you have a bad exp
Dont look only one mob exp. See how fast the mob die.
Make friends and help others.
If you cant help with adena, items, buffers, etc help with info and party.
If you play this game alone, soon you will get boring and leave it or reroll 7 times :)
Join a clan with websites, ventrilo/team speak server
And more import: Make friend around all the world. Try learn another cultures and histories.
Lineage 2 more then a simple game. It is a place to know and meet people.
Sure it is hard. Not easy get top gear but real life is too.
If you are in a good clan or hunting with friends you dont need top gear.
I played a lot of MMORPG and noone hae a comunity like lineage2.
