I just started playing healer for the first time. I'm a Human Cleric lvl 29. After pumpkin event i made my first mil and bought a mage staff from a player shop. Spent 600k on it and i assume that was pretty cheap.
Now to the question:
Does a higher m.atk weapon affect my heals? I have noticed that shots make heals stronger but i only use shots for emergency heals as it is now. If the m.atk does not affect heals then i could sell the weapon and go back to NG and use shots instead, cause the money could go to D grade jewels instead ^^.
Could someone give me some info on how tis whole heal-thing works. And maybe a tip or two :)
So to end answering the question : yes, as a healer in party you'll do good with a no grade weapon, and shots for emergencies.
Of course, don't try to solo :) but it's not the point of a mmorph anyway isnt it? :)
I am not intending to solo before i can afford a light set and a mellee weapon as second set anyway. As for de-buffs and root/sleep, will they land worse if i have lower m.atk?
Ive noticed that sleep used to land more often against DARK RED mobs when I had a higher m.atk weapon. When I tried to sleep/root mobs my own lvl there is no noticable difference.
Using spirit shots however, makes a big difference when trying to sleep/root. If you concerned about sleep/root landing, use spirit shots.
For the up and coming healer, for c-grade I would probably recommend the mysterious sword with acumen. Its cheap, it has acumen, and it uses only 2 bspsc instead of the 3 the homonculus uses. And, using this bottom c-grade sword unenchanted at level 66 I can still trance the angels on ToI 10. If the healer is your main, the acumen is worth having instead of using no-grade.
Mind you, its absolute crap for damage or using might of heaven. But for healing, its a bargain.
Well as for later. I'm a pvp [censored] and always will be. I see that i get mana burn skills and such. i would love to have the ability of pvping mana using classes. But i suppose not many healers do anything else than heal. Do they?
If you're going bishop, no, you'll be entirely healing and crowd controlling. I'd still go with an acumen weapon, its a big improvement over a NG weapon without SA. With a basic c-grade acumen weapon, you'll be set until you reach a-grade at level 61 since you won't be effective in PvP until then anyway. Even with an overenchanted homonculus, you'll have abysmal results in trying to sleep in PvP before that (the acumen though will help you heal a great deal). So get an acumen weapon at level 40 and keep it until 61 and then get yourself an a-grade weapon, assuming you're savvy enough at making adena.
I haven't had much chance to use trance in pvp but even with a +5 SOM and bsps I use to have the worst landing rate trying to sleep (that's right, pre sleep nerf) in pvp. Trance it supposed to be much better though.
