Ok, i dont understand the first thing about this :p
I took the "Enhance Your Weapon" quest, chose a Blue Crystal cos i'd like to increase my damage when i do a Critical with my Caliburs, and now... i saw that you can actually buy a Stage 10 Crystal in the Luxury Shop !
So, first off, what's the "stage" of a Crystal ?
Also, they say in the Crystal description that, from stage 10, you dont need to "aim" (or something like that) the Crystal, what does it mean ?
Then, which stage do i need the Crystal to be to apply the SA to my weapon ?
And then, how do i apply it once the Crystal is at the right stage ?
I really dont have a single clue about all this :eek:

This is my understanding... when you further the dialogue with the quest giver... they give you a list of mobs that you can use the soul crystal to claim souls on... each soul you successfully claim will increase the stage of the crystal. Claiming souls of the mob can be done when the mob is close to death and you click the crystal while mob is in target. Be sure not to have more than 1 crystal at a time when you're farming souls to increase the stages of the crystal. Also if you overdo the attempts on claiming souls... it can break.
When you go to enhance the weapon the smiths should tell you which stage and color crystals they need to apply the SA.
The only thing you need the enhance your weapon quest for now, is if you want to make level 5,6 crystals (for some of the lower weapons) - or if you'll be in the "last hit" party of a boss that will raise crystal levels.
also by leveling the crystal yourself there is an added bonus, you get xp while doing it. While you can buy the crystal in the luxury shop, I'm not sure that it's worth it compared to the XP you can get while doing this quest.
As stated by another poster in this thread, you must NOT have more than one of these crystals in your inventory while doing this or it will not work!
According to recent patch notes however, the crystals are no longer supposed to be able to break during the trip from stage 0-10. I have no confirmation of this, but that's what the patch notes said.
Stages per weapon grade:
Top C-grade - Stage 8
Mid C grade - stage 7
Low C grade - stage 6
Top B grade - Stage 10
Low B grade - Stage 9
Top A grade - Stage 12
Low A grade - Stage 11
S grade - Stage 13
Stages 11-13 can only be done on certain Raid bosses.
I'n my experience, leveling soul crystals will not result in a broken one.
However, since the soul crystals no longer break, they take significantly longer to level up to 10.
Before all the changes to soul crystal leveling, I was able to get a single lvl 10 crystal within 1 to 2 buff rounds, 3 if one or two broke. Now, I'm lucky if it levels 2 or 3 times in a single buff round. I've had many buff rounds where the soul crystal will level only once. So expect only on average 2 levels per 20 minutes for a soul cyrstal.

I think i'm gonna take the quest, even if it takes forever (but what doesnt take forever in the Lineage world ? :)), i kinda like the idea of stealing souls to enhance my weapon, it's very Stormbringer-ish :p
One last question though : can i add more than one SA to a weapon ?
To look it up you can go to blacksmith in Giran for example - unequip your weapon and ask him to enchance your weapon. It will bring up the menu of 3 choices (usually) and when you pick the one you want, it will show you what color you need and how many gemstones and money also.
Does anyone still has the list of bosses for the lvl 11 or 12 crystals? Very confusing and contradictory info I have found, but I'm looking for something more conclusive.
