say...three people are taking shift to play one account. is it allowed ? coz I know it will get banned for sharing account in World of Warcraft.
It is not allowed.
It's against the EULA. You won't be banned (if you or your friends don't bot it), but if your friends lose your password or steal your stuff, NCsoft won't help you.

In the EULA it's stated that this is not permitted. So as in any other MMO (I think) it's not allowed to do so and is indeed a risk towards getting banned.
It's against the eula yes.

But as NCSoft stated many times before and probably will again, is that they won't enforce that rule as long as nothing else happens-

complaining about stolen gear is one thing who can happen.
but theoretically speaking, if the other people shares the same computer, then there is no way anybody can find there are more than 1 people playing the game, right?

also, what about dynamic ips? would they ban somebody because he/she connected to the game from different ips?
Nope on the last one...I sometimes play from my portable and my home PC has a rotating IP so nope no worries there.

As Nameless stated they will only make a problem about it if you get scamm probs due to sharing.

No, they would need a webcam for that :)

No, else I would have been banned long ago - my ISP assigns dynamic IP addresses...

But they theoretically could see if the IP addresses come from completely different address pools when different people log on from different places. Still, what the others have said is true: it IS against the EULA to share an account, but they seem to kind of tolerate it. But if something happens (you share the account with a clannie, and he suddenly clears out your toons and leaves, never to be seen again), they won't help you.
Won't work either Varaya, lots of players could play a different places. Like eg home at parents.

Another factor is :P even my friend here Arigato, LOL yeah he have visited me twice, he live in USA me in Europe and yeah he's been here, and yeah we both played L2 from here :P
some nc dude said they basically couldnt care less if you share accounts
the only time you will get in trouble for it is if you use it to afk bot the sell the adena

also if all of a sudden you find your account missing a few bil dont bother nc. not their problem
Due to the Real life factor I don't think they can do anything with IP's anyways. It's too much of a '?' and not viable to base EULA breaking on. Specially since most IP addresses by providers are dynamic anyways and many people travel alot or play at different times on different stations.
Given that NCSoft won't ban ebayed accounts, I doubt they'll bother you for sharing. Just make sure you trust your friends.
I think ebayed accounts are a lesser offense than account sharing.

Atleast for the most part ebayed accounts were played by one person who paid a monthly fee and will be continued to be played by one person who is paying a monthly fee. (ya there are exceptions, but there is exceptions to every sitituation in this game)

An account with 2 or more users is cheating NC out of 1 or more monthly fee's which effects the game in a more than the above.
Not always entirely true, alot of the time the e-bayed accounts are botted up. Account sharing is kinda like buying accounts though so lets say if the ebayed one is legitly brought up its the same stuff as account sharing. you just "sell and rebuy" the account back and forth when it becomes your turn as an excuse, its rather easy to mess around with as they cant do anything, i mean seriously? are they gonna check your receipts between 2 friends 'buying and reselling' the account between eachother? lol

the real penalty for account sharing is that you will have no support from NCsoft if you give the account info off to someone you trust and it proves to be a big mistake and he/she wipes you clean of stuffs... you'll never get help from NCsoft for that if they know you're account sharing and doubtfully even if you didn't share it, lol
In general, it is against the EULA. However, they have said it is fine for a household. For example, if you have children playing, the parent "owns" the account(s) so the children would be technically in violation whenever they play.

You will not get in trouble for sharing accounts unless it comes to a dispute over who owns the account and NCSoft cannot determine the correct owner. This happens when both parties know all of the necessary information to claim ownership. In that case, NCSoft will lock the account until the parties resolve the dispute amongst themselves (if ever).
