Hi all, I previously asked a question about classes, and was suggested a blade dancer, well that didn't really work out, mainly due to playing a palus. While I understand that 20-40 isn't too bad to deal with, I question the difference other than buff/auto attack which is what im doing now, moving on. I am playing an archer/dagger dark elf, I'm unsure of which to go with but at least i have 20 or so more levels to decide, but I am finding it hard to keep up in SP or even to break even. So I was wondering a few things.
Is there any reason to take Power shot at all? Maybe Its just because I'm using the top no grade bow from rerolling but It really doesn't seem that useful with its high mana cost and long cast time. Is it just a waste of SP or is there a reason I should take it?
Also, with Arrows and Soul shots, Is there a way I can carry more? a Quiver or something? I mean, I can carry about 2000 arrows or so, if I want to carry soul shots and I'm finding I have to go back to town more often than I would have liked, and I'm not even 20, so I imagine it would only get worse. If this is the case forever would you recommend just going dagger instead or do the more powerful bows just not warrant as many arrows used and things like that? I really enjoy seeing the big numbers of both weapons, so i'd like to keep going with these classes, but I am leaning towards a wizard because my friend hits like I do, and doesn't have to carry all of that. Also, is an archer a cost worthy class for someone with little amounts of money? or would I be better off going the dagger route? Both seem fun, pve and pvp possibilities. Any help would be purrfect ^^
power shot is a nono. doesent realy do much damage, and you wibe out of mana in notime. you need your mana for regualar shots, unless you get a lot of mana herbs and know you can spend some mana on PS.
atm there is nothing you can do about your wiegth limit. but it gets better at higher lvl. at 52 you will be able to carry a lot more shots.
nukers hit hard, yes. also have a lot of downtime unless you hunt where herbs drop, and even then you may have some downtime. playing a nuker is a lonely road tho, you will be soloing most of you time.
archers and daggers are both wanted in groups, different kind of groups, but still a lot easier to find a party then if you play a nuker.
dagger uses shots way faster then most classes, so I cant realy say its cheap to play a dagger.
archers are very expensive in shot at lower levels, but at higher lvls it get very much cheaper, 52+ I would say.
welcome and I wish you good luck.
Im sure other will give you more accurate info.
If you want a class that does more than assist continually in groups, daggers and archers are a bad choice - a BD can be fun if you're tanking with VR, but a real tank, healer or summoner probably offers the most diverse gameplay - or a pole user.
hm, Naw, I don't like tanking at all, and so far I am enjoying bows. I like my dagger too, just having trouble deciding which is the better road to take for someone who is lacking in the money area ^^ I have noticed that most high level light armor (imo anyway) points toward archers moreso than daggers. Can anyone tell me some of the pvp strategies and things? I mean, I realize one is up in face to face and one is ranged, but is archer all kiting, and dagger all, wait until people attack others then backstab/deadly blow? I'm sure there is more to it than that, any help would be appreciated. I'm glad the arrow/soulshot weight doesnt stay forever because It would seem you would have to go back to town a ton, I can only carry about 60% of a level and I'm not even 20 yet, so 20+ and 40+ would have been a lot more often. anyway, Thanks for the responses ^^
I believe people usually use a dagger up to 52 to get a BoP, since it only uses 1 or 2 shots (I can't remember), and even then, most carry around a dagger anyways.
ok...Power Shot, get it, only use it to kill the mob ( as in lasthit) you'll get more xp like that. as for sp, it'll get better. as for your weight, you can carry ss in the condensed pacakges(nongrade ss packages are sold in stores) i would suggest getting a dagger too, hit the mob with the bow 1 or 2 times, then finish off with the dagger. you'll be able to hunt longer, and not alot of mp downtime.
archer is an expensive class to play...
