So Im working on my DA. Im newly 52 with a doom set and +4 DMG. I have +4 STR and -4 CON. I basically really need help figurong put a good place to grind or if i should go hunting for a group somewhere. I dont have a clan...yea it sucks...so im lacking on the social side. If any DA's or anyone else has any tips i'll be more than happy to try em out. I was soloing in cemetary...but i just wasn't getting into that grind groove i normally get into. So any suggestions. Thanks guys. Peace!
52 DA with kitty is fine in Cemetary and also EV. You can do the 'down' (gully) part of EV really easy with panther. I like about 52-54 if you're solo just in EV. Take a minute to kill a valley treant elder but u stun them a lot and they give 13k exp with the kitty helping you!

54-56 I've spent in outlaw forest/bandit stronghold area north of ivory tower. Outlaw forest area is really easy solo (even without kitty) at 54 for you. Move on to oel mahum witch doctors in Stronghold WITH your panther....that's where I am atm and it's safe, easy, reliable, steady. Nice mix of green and white mobs.

That's my 2 cents.
Right on. I was thinking bout going back there. Im kinda regretting tho going with a DMG. I mean yea i get 25% more HP...but i don't get near the damage of a SOD with focus...lol. i hate decisions. :p
I dont see the use for +25% HP for soloing :/ gogo damage!
If you don't get groups, you might as well ditch the doom for BW or Zubei. No point upping your HP if you're not going to be in emergency situations where you need it.

I'd suggest a Dama too usually - but the DMG is just too ****. ;)
You might wanna try forsaken plains too. I spent alot of time there, 50 - 60
The best place that I have found so far is Frozen Labrynth. Get pet SS and use the cat. There are a group of 4 1/2 HP golems that give about 4K xp each. With the cat you can cut through these guys real fast and the drop herbs too. There are some spiders that are sword vulnerable there too. Go to this place at lvl 54 or 55 you will love it.
Now, for lvl 52 forsaken plains is good, but if you find yourself needing to heal too much, try the vanor silenos chieftains near aden.
Maline and I have had DA tank build discussions before (which I always loose).....:)

The issue with "if you don't often get groups" causes some problems. It's not the uber group that worries me--it's those "marginal" ones I always get dragged into!

I'm convinced there are better armors than Doom for the tank--particularly if you solo and actually want to kill something.
Unfortunately most of us don't have the extra millions to complete 2 sets so it's a choice. Doom OR Bw, BW OR Zubei, etc.

It's when you are just about in over your head and the group is kinda shaky that I appreciate the armor set. Healer is lower than you'd like, DD's are an odd mix or lower than they might be, nuker is less competent than you'd prefer, kamikazi dd's pulling 'extra' mobs to group---those are the times tanks die. It's only then that I admit I'm a bit of a scardy cat and want all the pdef and hitpoints I can have---cause I HATE dying.

To concede the point, that doesn't happen a lot. Most clan groups are solid, even the few pick up groups generally are relatively balanced.
It's that ONE GUY who always wants to jump up to the next collection of harder aggro groups or the next higher cata that scares me a bit, or the gung-** newer player that is absolutely convinced that "if we can pull and handle 6 mobs, we should be FINE with 12" at once---I'LL GET THEM!".....did I mention how much I hate dying?

Happy but probably built out wrong in my Doom Heavy with Dama/focus................

Lionna's most cautious tank.

PS. My 'authority' is a really exceptional tank in the clan--his advice was "use Doom as long as you can--you'll never find a better all around armor for DA at any level again". That's good enough for me! He is an OUTSTANDING tank.
