Couple of quick questions!

I have a couple of very quick newbie questions if you wouldn't mind indulging me :

1) Are player names distinct or not? I assume not, but just checking before I start trying to choose one for later

2) I know combat is simplified to a degree, but am I right in assuming you can cancel spells mid-cast and are not committed to casting whatever you initially select?

1) Yes player names are distinct, you can't have 2 players with the same name on the same server

2)Yes and no, it's been a while since I used any spells, being a bounty hunter and all. But from what i remember, the longer u wait to cancel a spell, the less chance it had of canceling the spell ...

2) Magic spells can be cancelled buy using ESC-key, but time doesnt make a difference, its a bit at random, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.

If you press it fast enough, you can cancel.

At the end of the spell, due to the time it takes to transmit your character's action to your client and your own request to cancel a spell back to the server, it might look like you've not finished casting yet, but you can no longer cancel, since you're already done.

Yes, you can cancel the spell, but there is still a mana cost as if you had cast the spell anyway, if I recall correctly.

There is a small % of mana used initially (based on MEN and casting speed I believe) that regens back to the orginal mana value you had when you cast the spell when the cast time is finished. So, basically the faster you cast the less mana it costs to cancel a spell.

I appear to only have 2 spells at the moment (Wind and Self Heal). These are great, but is there any way I can obtain more? I'm only level 8 (one night!)... is it a level based thing? I can't seem to find a list of spells and levels anywhere!

Played for the first time yesterday and it was fun!! Really has a great feel to it.

Yes, new mages can learn skills at lvl 7
Go visit your grandmaster. And bring him a present for being 1 level late, unless you're an orc mage then you'll need another levelup before you have enough SP for 1 skill ;)

make sure you know when your next skill lvl is!!

You can see the spells you can have on the site. Just click on Library then Race, Classes & Skills. Then just choose your race and the class after that.

Chances are that you won't have enough SP for much. Get offensive skills first.

I believe it is fixed - I've not heard about anything like this before.
