Well. Just hit 61 and I thought it wouldnt be that hard to get A grade. WRONG.
I have 2.5 mil and my B grade stuff which is top of the line and a lil OE'd.
BUt how can i make the money for A grade quick and fast?. I dont ebay. Just screws that market more.
Im an SK and I could make an artisan if that would help me make some Adena. SO send me them suggestions PLEASE.
If you wanted A grade fast, make a bounty hunter and spoil the recipes while manoring the materials. You can never possibly buy items nearly as cheap as you can craft them.
Also, some of the quests (such as the Giant's Cave) that give A grade recipes are not as bad as the TOI quest, so you can realistically get the recipes you need.
My own A grade came at level 71 (still no A grade weapon but I never planned to make one, I'll go for S grade duals when I hit spectral master).

wouldn't it be easier to just spoil the mats themselves, rather than bothering with the confusing, and often nonrewarding, manor?

1. You can't spoil mats at anywhere near the rates you can manor them. E.g. with some seed types and a good manor setup you could be earning 6-8 animal bone per mob on every mob... much better than something spoiling 10 bone for every 10th monster.
2. You can directly manor mithril alloy, VOP, etc. which you can't directly spoil, saving many hours on major craft projects.
3. Until you're in the 60s you can't earn more per hour on spoil than on manor, assuming your castle lords aren't all idiots.
4. You can seed and harvest every monster; not every monster in an area will spoil the item you want. So if you're farming animal bone in a room where 4 out of 8 monsters can spoil it, half the monsters aren't helping your goal progress at all.
5. Manor gives you a lot of control over which item you're farming.
6. Many items (e.g. bone) don't spoil at 60+ at all, from anything. You can still manor them, or better yet, manor the final product (e.g. VOP) directly.
7. You'll earn MUCH more money going for things that spoil rare recipes than you will trying to spoil mats you could also manor. You may not find any monsters that both have a very good rare spoil AND a good material spoil too.

Spoiled and manored with my BH in GoE, mobs spoil cbp there. In the time i got 20-30 cbp with spoil i got may be 100 cbp from manor, if not more. I find manor way more rewarding if you going after a specific mat.
Pronghorn Spirits in FL are pretty decent. You get lots of Varnish in spoils and CBP in quest items. I doubt you can manor on them efficiently, though :D
