crafting C and B

so i want to craft myself a homu sword and then put acumen on it for when my SH is going to be 40, and so i'm wondering if its better to get the basic mats (bones, varnish, iron) and then combine them or get the higher tier mats (VoP, hardeners, etc) straight away? should i try to manor these items or use my scavvy (its only 20 now =( ) to spoil them?
Manoring mats goes a lot faster then spoiling for em ... the only problem i see here, is your main's a nuker, not the best class to manor.
I manor all my mats (well almost, there's some i can't manor) and i normally craft from scratch because of that ... Therefore I don't know if it's cheaper to buy bone, sop and mithril ore instead of a varnish of purity. I presume it is ...

Instead of crafting a homu, i suggest you save your Ancient Adena, and just upgrade your current weapon to a Homu with mammon blacksmith. It's a lot easier to upgrade your weapon to a homu then it is to craft once, cause the homu edges aren't really common as far as i'm concerned.
There are also several weapons that are easier to craft with the same crystal value as the Homunkulus which makes them an even swap at mammon.
You're better off buying C and D crystal, buying the Dark Screamer at luxury shop, and switching with the blacksmith of mammon.

If you actually have a seed type that gives vop, mith alloy, etc. of course do that instead of base mats.
Luxary Shop!
To save money open a buy shop for the crsytals at a lower price than youd get them if you bought em directly from sell shops.

Crafting D or C grade now-days has become less viable since the price of basic mats has gone up so high that it could more expensive to craft than to get it form luxary shop.
