Hey all! I am getting L2 for Christmas and I am psyched ^^
I just wanted to say and ask a few things before I start off.
I planned on being a Shillien Knight, because I want something that can do damage as well as take it. Is that a good choice? (I want a DE character)
Are SKs any good in PvP and are they useful later on?
Would I pretty much need to use a sword and shield or eventually could I use two handed swords? (thinking Dragon Slayer *drools*)
Can you have more than one weapon or set of armor at a time?
Is there some sort of storage thing where you can hold items, but not necessarily have them right on your character?
Do servers have many good clans or is it pretty much if you aren't in a certain clan you can't do much?
I saw some screenshots with people that have a sort of tiara on their forehead, what is that? Does it have to do with Noblesse?
You don't have to address all these questions, though it would be very helpful. And please offer any tips that are related to this or just in general. And if possible give me info on another class you believe might better suit what I was looking for(good damage and can hold their own).
Thank you so much in advance. I look forward to your responses.
I am currently working on a SK as a matter of fact. For that exact reason :)
Umm bout the question of one main clan im not really sure bout other servers but on Lionna There hundreds of clans. Some small some large but there is something for everyone. :)
P.S - If u choose Lionna as your server be sure to mail me ingame, EzraII. :)

U get lots of different head accessories that NC are currently expanding. Events and quests can give you these.
Not sure about the tiara you saw but there are crowns for each of the castle lords that exist and the noblese tiara specifically, i think, has wings that fan from it. Not sure
Can you have more than one weapon or set of armor at a time?
yes this is possible but it is costly to your funds in game. You get benefits on your first character on the server so that will help you up to about 25. Benefits offer things like armour upgrades up to grade D I think.
You also recieve buffs from NPCs' but thats' kinda explained when you log for the first time.
You could but i think its better for you to use a one handed sword and shield. I think (correct me if i am wrong) you get skills that you need a shield in order to use the skill ( shield stun or is that DA only).
How can you have a forum account without a game account O_o
Forum account comes with a playNC account.
You can have a PlayNC account and no L2 account.
Since I've been at college my account has been inactive untill only recentley (going home soon). I found viewing pages were ok but I was not able post.
People can get game time cards without the purchase of the game I guess.
That's the head thing. But I want a DE class... can I use a two handed sword though? No one addressed that..
the two handed sword is more for an orc destroyer, but you could level an sk and subclass as a destroyer if your just wanting the aesthetics of a de and the mechanics of having a two handed sword.

Grats! Welcome to L2! :)

Tank classes Shillien Knights, Temple Knights, Dark Avengers, Paladins are there to take damage, not deal it. At lower levels you can do both somewhat. In PVP they are known as the meat-shields and don't do so well in PvP. My clan leader has several PvP victories as a D.A. but the typical mage DD (Spellhowler, Spellsinger, Sorcerer, Necromancer) has many more. Most mele classes get killed frequently in PvP.
Would I pretty much need to use a sword and shield or eventually could I use two handed swords? (thinking Dragon Slayer *drools*)
SK's don't get two-handed sword masteries. That means they are less effective for an SK. Also, you really want a shield as a Tank.
Can you have more than one weapon or set of armor at a time?
Yup. $$$$
Is there some sort of storage thing where you can hold items, but not necessarily have them right on your character?
Yes. Your toon's warehouse is accessable from any town. You can also Freight (ship) items from any toon to another in any town.
Do servers have many good clans or is it pretty much if you aren't in a certain clan you can't do much?
Gustin has two or three big ones that control the castles, but it varies. The most important thing about joining a clan is that you match thier play style, i.e. amount of pvp, etc. If you are lucky enough to find the right clan, join thier academy. You can get a D grade armor set and benefit from thier experience. Also, when you graduate from the academy (complete second class change) the clan will get reputation points. The most points will be earned if you join around level 15, I think.
I saw some screenshots with people that have a sort of tiara on their forehead, what is that? Does it have to do with Noblesse?
Those come from a variety of places including Noblesse, graduating a clan academy, or being in a castle owning clan.
Can you have more than one weapon or set of armor at a time?
If you have the money for it you can. How ever there is a limit on how much stuff you can carry. If you go above 50% your's hp and mp regeneration drop by allot. If you go above 64% (something like that) you also get speed penalty and so on. On my toon (warcryer) I can carry 2 sets of armor and 2 wearpons, but then I cant hold much of consumables, only enoughf to last me an hour or so. SK should be able to carry about as much if not my then orc mystics.
Of the Dark elf fighter races. The AW is specialized to PvP. they do a lot of damage, and have skills used in fighting players. BD's do a lot of damage, and because of their party buffs, are prolly one of the classes groups look for the most. they are more expensive to level cause of the shots used for duals. SK's are used in tank situations. (when you want one person to take all the damage). most people play BD's cause they are fun, and always useful in playing and fighting and all the time. AW's are a little harder in day to day play, but really shine in PvP's (which don't happen all that often-but it happens) SK's are prolly the least played, but are useful when you need tanks.
you prolly wont have enough money to worry about having multiple sets of armour. and each class will have things that work best for them.
Here is the thing about clans. More mature clans will typically be extremely careful about who they let in. this game can leave you isolated for some periods of time. some players will get frustrated and start doing unfriendly things. and one bad clan member can give a clan with months and months of good things a bad reputation. also, high level people can only do so much to help lower level people....so it makes em feel bad if you have just one or two lower level people in the clan, cause its hard to party with them.
there are mid level clans that take whomever. their members change a lot. its hard for them to rely on more than the core group of people. clans that run around the starter towns just grabbing whomever happens by( and these are the ones you are gonna see a lot of--- shouting endlessly), will typically end up stuck in these towns, as the members change so much. as people get bored and reroll and try other clans. so just be careful about people recruiting in starter towns, unless being in dozens of clans in your gameplay doesnt bother you. My suggestion with clans, is to ask to play with its members for a few weeks.
The game requires a lot of time.... so you get to spend a lot of time thinking about what you want to do. have fun.
So that means that if I want a class that can do damage then SK's are a bad choice? Abyss Walkers sound cool to play as but in all honesty I don't like the look of their light armor for the most part (Looks matter to me.. it's a CURSE)
But if I did play as a SK you are saying I would prolly get slaughtered in PvP? What about an AW in that same situation?
*does the I have no clue what to do dance*
You can but you don't get masteries after 20. Eventually it'll pay to go to light. You'll have roughly the same as you would in the heavy and evasion as well.
But would it really put a damper on my game that much? Because I really don't like the Draconic Armor or w/e with the belly showing.. *sigh* I don't know anymore... I am such an idiot... I'll ask some of my friends and get their input.

You will have less defence (the higher lvl you are the less), like 7 evasion less and also bonuces from heavy sets are rarely good for rogue classes.
Well, for the most part, when you're tanking, your job and skills are not to do fast damage. Your job is to hold mobs attention while support classes do fast kills. I'm oversimplifying a bit, but that is the general nature of the game. Offsetting this somewhat is the fact that tank types have a little more flexibility of where they can solo.
Personally, I like the flexibility of a tank/gladiator/Tyrant type, and I don't mind taking a beating for the group. (In fact, it makes me feel rather tough.) Others will play nukers, archers, and dagger users just because they like the play style, faster leveling, and killing ability in PvP.
I hope this helps.
Would it be possible to make an AW, then subclass Shillien Knight so that way I can have the dagger attacks for good damage and eventually get Tallum Plate armor? (love Tallum's appearence in plate form)
The sub and main class's skills do not mix. So you ether a SK or AW, you switch classes at a NPC, but itsgoing to take realy long for you not to worry about now.
