is there a chance...?

that toons made in different continents, cant be contacted through pms or invite em to party by /invite command?
i was trying to pm a toon yesterday and invite him to party and i was getting a refusal system message like he wasnt online or not existing at all. i was standing next to him in game and the only way to invite him was by selecting him and push the invite button. anyone else has ever seen that?

and yes, i spelled the name correctly

were you pestering the guy? Sometimes ppl will add you to they're ignore list. Maybe he didn't want to chat.

nope, thats not it for sure. the guy is in my clan and we party every day. i just noticed that yesterday. i might ask him later that i get home if anyone else told him bout that or its only me or the time (temporary stuck or smthng). what i know for fact though is that he s not from europe or U.S . thats why i asked about different continents. maybe the fonts are different or something like that.
well dont bother, i was just curious if anyone seen this in the past, tnx for interest though :)

Did you get the capitals correct? The name has to match exactly, caps and all. If you did, I bet he has an invisible character in his name, or a _ at the end. That is the only way I see that /invite doesn't work, but <select> <invite> does work.

You can test this: have him send you a PM, then use " to respond. If it works, there is something special in his name that you aren't typing yourself.

If he was already in another party you will get the message that you have invited the wrong target or that he cannot join. Next time it happens just ask if he is already in a party.

its probably a hidden -_ or something or a space.
capitals dont need to be exact to pm, many years now :)
no he wasnt in a party, he asked to invite him. i ll test what u told me ang to respond to his pm, we ll find the answer there (probably)

I did that to my dual box once by accidently sending a trade invite, cancelling it right away and then sending a party invite. Or sending both at once I forget. Then everytime I tried to party invite my second account it auto refused until I restarted.

You can also ask him to PM you, then hit " and edit the line to insert the /invite command before the name

as it seems, at some players the capitals must be typed the same as the char's name. but not for everyone. i owe an apologie to Ang. tnx ppl. problem solved
