How do you know when your clan is ready to pick up the goblet and throw fire into the mix?
How do you know when your clan is ready to seige?
[Kain Server]

Ive been a clan lord for years.
One of the largest things that happens to us is text book style decredidation that stops us before we're ever powerful enough
(TSUN TZU's first rule of war) breaking up alliances

we start getting the numbers in.....and wham! someone threatensd someone and half the clan leaves.
well...we're pretty much wanting to go into seige, we're sick of waiting for the numbers to roll in.
Other then that are there any suggestions to know when your clan/alliance is ready?
I did the obviouse and asked my clan mates, they are psyched to start actually playing the game, instead of the hours and hours spent preparing to play the game.

and even though we'll more n likly get slaughtered, i feel as there Lord i owe them to get them what they want. And they want to seige.
other then that how do you know really when the clan is ready to actually take a castle?
You don't know until you try :) There's castle upsets all the time
Being able to siege is something different from being able to take a castle.I am in a rather small clan ,well we wanted to take part in sieges so we approached castle defending clans and offered our help.No reason for them to deny,so we got ourselves in the castles and enjoyed our Saturday nights. We are mostly in looser side but who cares? We didn't own a castle in the first place so around 40 rep.points /siege was all our loss.
In my server if you wanna have chances to take a castle you have to be a really big and powerful clan and also have strong friends besides your allies.Last time i went to siege last weekend we had to face at least 30-40 Drac bows if that means something about this matter.
First, dont let them get discouraged if they feel they are out leveled. A properly played character of lower level is more valuble than a higher lvl that doesnt know what he/she is doing.
Depending on how many people you have sieging in your clan, you need to set up properly matched teams with team leaders that only take direction from you. Get teamspeak or a similar s/w to help you with controlling the teams. Understand the siege plan that is given by the alliance leaders. I assume you are going to siege with other clans.
When creating the team, make sure everyone knows there role/purpose during the siege. The worst thing that can happen is everyone just running around trying to kill someone.
Does everyone know how to set up macros for force attack? Do they know how to assist the team leader? i.e. all ranged attackers should have one that targets first, then everyone else assists. Do the tanks know when you get in the castle they are the ones that go in first to attract the npc's? Who stays at the flag? DO you replant the flag if it goes down? If not, do you have a buffer at the nearest town?
Our alliance practiced by fighting in the shadow of another alliance. We helped a friendly group defend their castle for about 2 months. We got used to siege mechanics, find what gear worked/didn't work, were able to work together as a team, and so forth. Plus, if you're working with another group that's good at sieging, you can learn a lot from them.
That's another thing too, if you take a castle be prepared to be able to hold it because taking a 2,000 point loss is hard to swallow if you lose it the very next cycle.

About the time you can field a decently equipped party of B-graders.

That way, by the time you're ready to actually take a castle you'll have plenty of experience siegeing, working together and PvEing under while at war.
just go for it, you'll know when youre ready because you'll make progress as you siege, like say over 2 months. That's 4 sieges, and if after the forth siege, you all get inside the castle, you'll know youre ready :)

i just went to sieges cause they are fun, when i was Cand Bgrade it was a blast, cause back then the highest on the server was like high 60's...but now level and gear make a difference.
so just go for it and see what happens :)
ty all!
My clan is really looking forward to participating
i think for the first few seiges we will look to helping a larger clan/alliance. then we'll start trying it on our own.
ty very much your opinions really make a differnce to me.
I hope you don't help my enemies, cause i will enjoy griefing your clan members until they cry.

Cool, another admitted griefer. What server are you on? I need something to do, this will help me. :D
I assume he's on Kain because RedRok is
a good time? when more than half the clan is in B grade or higher. never start out just trying to attack a castle by yourself, even with a full 12-clan C4 alliance you can lose. sign up to help someone defend their castle and get to know thier alliance better by doing so. later, when you are stronger, and your clannies are more accustomed to seigies being part of Their Fun, ask the castle owners for help in taking a castle.

Some other feed back from the larger alliances....there is no such thing as a perfect time. theres always issues in seige. but its a fun aspect of the game.
And also from previouse advice, that perfect time is always now, if we wait for everything to be perfected, we'll end up never seiging.
However talks are in the works we are going to be helping someone else, its the best choice at the moment since some of our peeps are low grade. they just want to get in there and have some fun.

Hi Ellie! :D
Well red I would say keep it up I know it was hard for ya last time ya seiged. (gludio caslte) But during that seige you still made an impression on the ppl killing you. It always seemed that your guild was otu there burning our mana and IIRC we didn;t take the castle from ya that time.
GL on whatever castle you decide to defend. On kain you have a few choices for a gyuild like yours.
Gludio (smallish guilds hold this one frequent 30 minute rushes at the end)
Dion (held by a larger ally but seem to allow anyone to defend rly)

those seem to be the ones that owuld be most open to your help. Possibly aden shutgaart oren as well depending on your language skills
Thank you Bosh I apreciate the complement.
last time i seiged i was in c grade and your right...
the only thing we really could do is get up there to waste the attackers mana.
we arent big ewnough to really do much damage and do feel we have strong players that can help a larger alliance out in seige.
ty all for the input!
