New to the Boards but long time player. I guess this will be the best time to get in to the board game...
My Glad just hit 62 last night ( very happy ). I got a tallum set and still using my Bgrade duals. I wanted to know whats the best set up for a glad. for PVP AND PVE? I have no dye yet so please can someone give me some good info on Glad's?
most glads i know go +4 str +4 dex -8 con and have focus B duels
pretty sure a fairly +'ed set of focus duels with out damage kesh*kesh but ill wait for a double sword user to prove me wrong
at high lvls i think glads like to go +con for pvp
tallum is a great DD set but mainly for pve
you can start pvping at 62 but gimping your stats at that lvl is abit on the ouch side
i really wouldnt consider going +con until the mid 70's
C5 changed alot of thing concerning Glad build. I started with +4 dam/kesh duals and a MJ set in C4. This was a good build on his own but it was to slow in c4 standards. The high Patk you get on this armor can be seen in your specials but like I said the refresh timers took alot of time. After I got to 77 I switched to Tallum armor and +4 Kesh/Kesh. The speed increase could be seen and in the end your DPS was higher. In C4 I had +5 STR -5CON and with the armor bonus it was +7 STR -7CON. The damage of a gladiator comes from his specials and boosting your STR will give you more. In C4 decreasing DEX would be the last thing I would do but this idea would change in C5
When C5 came I changed my view on my build. Skills refresh alot faster now and not charging 7 times after each skill saves alot of time. Also -CON is really bad when daggers can bypass all your CP and potentially BS crit you. I wanted more durability so I removed my +5STR -5CON dyes and got +4STR -4DEX. Only thing that holded me back from doing this was atkspeed and runspeed. the loss in atk speed wasnt that big and since we use less time charging up it was really acceptable. Run speed was my biggest concern but being real we never really had a chance to close the gap between our opponents, even if you have +DEX dyes most classes will outrun you be it either by higher runspeed or using skills that slow you down. Getting my CON back up made a difference like 2k CP/HP ratio when I was buffed. Also my ideal armor changed. In C4 I would not wear Imperial Crusader but this changed in C5. In the end game with full buffs you can achieve 13k hp and 6k CP and its going to take a while to bring you down. C5 made me move more towards durabilty then agility.
Well, As a Glad myself I can say with certainty, having played both styles, that you will need to Focus almost exclusively on PvE first, then once you level switch to a PvP settup.
For PvP I have Tallum Heavy and +5 Kesh*Kesh
+4 Str, +4 Dex, +1 more Dex, and -9 Con
You still have plenty of HP and with the -2 Con from the Tallum set you still have more con the DEs so you're not the worst at taking hits or resisting physical status changes.
For PvE, Nothing beats swapping out the Tallum for a Maj Heavy set. The Extra 4% P.Atk makes a noticable difference, and the set bonuses make a but more sturdy.
(Not much PvP happens pre-sub these days so I would recommend kitting up for PvP and switch to the PvP gear at Duelist).
I have to agree with Fushigi, for pve go with +dex and str tats. The extra crit rate is well worth it. Plus as a human, the added run spd will be very welcomed. Not to mention the attack speed help a lot too.
yeah, I want to do more PVE/quest at this lev them PVP. @70+ i will thinking of change my setup to pvp.
I was thinking Maj all this time...
I have in party SE to help me when I lev. so i would like to set my self up for PVE if PVP come notkick on my door it will be in clan/party pvp so ill be ok..
So im looking at Maj with +4kesh*kesh with +4Str and +4Dex.
I like the setup Husje have, but i want to put all my power on leveling..
Husje is not wrong, Kesh*Dama is a **** nice weapon, and with Maj Heavy, and those duals and +Con +Dex Tats the Glad can tank better than most tanks... they do enough damage to establish and keep aggro without hate, and can vamp back the damage from 2-3 mobs at once.
Tanking Glads are Monoliths, It all comes down to playstyle. I gave you my reccomendation based on the path I chose as a Gald, and it has served me well, but it may serve you better to play differently.
I've never battled a Tanking Glad 1 on 1 before, and I curriosu to see what the outcome would be in such a fight
