Sp. is this where i went wrong?

General Discussion Started Last reply 30 posts
ok so i got pushed out of my area by a few wartags today so i went to my back up spot
most ppl know im not much for numbers so ill try and guesstimate as well as posible (all numbers are with a 15% golem xp penalty)

my old area ranged from white to light blue mobs
the white mobs give about 10k xp and 1050 sp
the green gives about 6.9k xp and 700 sp
the blue ones give about 6.9k xp and 650 sp

my new area is all white mobs which are averageing about 5 lvls higher than my old area and give about 15k xp and 1700 sp

now im no rocket surgeon but if i needed sp (and Oh lord do i) i should be hunting those guys
so what im wondering is what exactly determins the xp/sp ratio of a mob? is it just a bunch of numbers that some maffs guy at nc presses, or is it somehow based on the monsters lvl? or is it somehow based on your lvl vs the mobs lvl

would be interested to hear some other xp/sp numbers to see how they compare
I always believed it was on a 10/1 basis, where xp gets bonusses from various variables...

I've noticed that over-hitting a mob does not increase the amount of SP. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

Another thought: Perhaps the amount of SP you get is constant in that how much you earn is based on the level of the mob and by how much it differs in level to the player.

I never paid much attention, but is the amount of SP you earn affected by being in a group? Perhaps it is just XP that is affected by factors other than base mob level and its level relative to the player?

and these are the questions that interest me
i never really thought twice about xp/sp ratios i just went out and killed whatever mob gave me the best xp without sending me bankrupt

if i find out you get more sp from killing white/pink/red mobs im gonna be ****** cause killing green mobs is practically in the dorf job description
Actually the XP / SP ratio is increasing how higher lv mobs you hunt, at 75 mobs the XP ratio is 10/1 at eg lv 1 mobs the XP ratio is moer like 40/1

yeah thats the theory i was working on, problem is i can still find green mobs that give a higher sp/xp ratio than white mobs

and once again proves that nc screws over the dorfs
a nuker can easily go from 1-75 hunting red-white mobs but a dorf will be killing greens from 20 onwards

pretty sure im right in assumeing that if you hunt white mobs from 0-78 you will have more xp than someone who hunts green mobs

now wheres that dude to tell me dorfs dont need much sp cause they dont have many skills?
just to give u an idea how the ratio gets better ....

Bearded Keltir lvl1 --> 35xp / 2sp (= 17.5:1)
Evil Eye lvl10 --> 356xp / 12sp (= 29.7:1)
Dark Succubus lvl20 --> 784xp / 35sp (= 22.4:1)
Amber Basilisk lvl30 --> 1558xp / 85sp (= 18.3:1)
Alligator lvl40 --> 2374xp / 153sp (= 15.5:1)
Deprive lvl50 --> 3672xp / 277sp (= 13.2:1)
Blood Queen lvl60 --> 4536xp / 394sp (= 11.5:1)
Bone Grinder lvl70 --> 7269xp / 721sp (= 10.1:1)
Varka Silenos Warrior lvl80 --> 21544xp / 2418sp (= 8.9:1)
Varka's Prophet lvl87 --> 36166xp / 4408sp (= 8.2:1)

btw ratio for raid boss is often something around 5:1 :eek:
been a while since i done ratios but shouldnt it be in the form
1000 xp 100 sp = 10:1 ?

and you are saying a raid boss gives 1 million xp and 50k sp?
if so im kinda glad ive never been to one :P

the demonic sword zariche has 4389 of usage time left on it.
The xp/sp ratio used to change depending on your lvl vs mob lvl. I don't think it changed.
I think the thing is that you get more SP penalty than XP penalty when you hunt weaker mobs (green or below), so in the end, you'll have less problems with SP if you hunt red mobs than blue.
But who cares, let's just play the game as we like, we'll get our skills sooner or LATER :)
Would not sp, as far as fast accumulation, be subject to the same scenario as exp?

In other words, if in one minute on average I can kill 6 green mobs that each give me 500 sp, I've 'earned' 3000 sp in the average minute.
If I hunt whites that give more, but can only kill 2.5 or 3 of those that each give me 800 sp, I would only earn 2400 sp in that average minute, yes?

As far as rb's--C5 seems to have dramatically increased their hps, their mdef, their minion respawan speed, but done very little or nothing with their exp/sp rewards. That's why most of us quit doing them and they are all standing around these days.

The first question you asked nameless seems to be answered, you get more sp, generally, PER MOB, as the mob's level relative to you increases.

But who cares, let's just play the game as we like, we'll get our skills sooner or LATER

ill repeat
the assumed fact that you can get all skills by your next skill lvl is wrong, im currently 18% from lvl and the way it looks is when i lvl i can take my pick between all 2nd class skills and 1 3rd class skill or 4 out of 5 of my 3rd class skills
btw i estimate that my next lvl will take 6 months so even if it was true its not much to look forward to

sorta true but mages kill red mobs just as easy as greens most of the time
if you go 0-80 hunting nothing but red mobs by the time you get there you will have more sp than the guy who hunted only green mobs

actually thats the only thing im not sure of
i know the higher lvl the mob the more sp it gives relevant to xp but im not sure if that has anything to do with my lvl
if a lvl 58 guy kills a lvl 60 mob does he get more sp than a lvl 60 guy who does the same thing?
No xp/sp ratio is the same for every player as long as its not penalized by being to low lvl mob.

has anyone actually checked though?
anyone killed a mob that is white then dinged and killed another one while green and checked?
Older players will often find their XP/SP being off because the old skill SP costs + new ones added later. Some skills used to be considerably more expensive.

you just get here?
ask at reception for the lecture notes so far :P
Harsh...
Was thinking of another subject I was discussing last night, carry on.

I did...in Forsaken Plains, really 0 difference.
I'm suspecting the actual HP of the mobs influences the amount of xp a player receives. I have not checked the same with SP, but would assume it follows a similar pattern. A simple way to compare the XP would be to hunt the Maille Lizardmen kind to the west of Gludio, then the Wererats to the east of the town. Wererats are lower level than the Maille, however still give more xp per kill. The only reason I can think of is the fact that Maille are simply easier to kill due to their 1/2 hp, and therefore give less xp as less effort is needed.
it isn't only hp that affects xp it's also the active/passive skills of the mobs .... more passive skill = more xp (compared to same lvl one w/out any or less) but some passive/active skills boost xp more then others ....

Archers and nuker mob push up total xp of the mob far more then for example a stunner.
nuker mobs give way less xp...

nuker mobs give way less xp...

Hmm, I always thought that because VoS has so many nuker mobs , the xp per mob is pretty high compared to non-nuker mobs like Blazing Swamp or Forbidden Gateway.
lowest xp mob in blazing swamp is a nuker
