I've recently purchased L2 after going thru the 14 day trial and deciding it was well worth it.
After playing so many MMORPG and getting sick and tired of WoW *grin* i was looking for something a bit more serious.
In my 14 day trial i managed to get a Dark elf to Assassin and it was very pleasant.. however at this point i still have no clue what i want to play in this game... i'm open to suggestions from Veteran of this game ;)
I am fairly certain I want to go melee but healer is interresting aswell.... I just don't want roll the same class everyone is playing! *shrug*
I'll admit that i am a bit scared of the game's economy but i'm sure i'll figure it out and get the basics soon enough
Planning on playing 2 to 4 hours a day when possible i'm hoping to becoming fairly active once i can get rid of my "n00b" status
i know this isn't the clan recruitment forums so i'll skip that subject completly but Feel free to PM any advice you might have on this game :p

P.S. English is my 3rd language after French and Japanese... any gramar or spelling mistakes i might have made (well... probably have) please ignore them!
i did actually, i have not yet overly looked into their casters but i recall seeing they they were support classes more than anything ( i could be wrong...) not that there is anything wrong with that! I just hope they have the capacity to play solo a bit when needed.
Mishy, dagger or Bow user R very fun but you need lots of money to keep them up. Healers r good, but we have so many player 2boxing sometime is hard to get party's. But if you fine a clan that need healers you will lev very fast...

Dark Elf Assasin were the right choice :) .. you can go from there to Abyss Walker , very strong melee class with high dps and cool skill, or Phantom Ranger which is very deadly in seige and master of long range battle. Also Dark Elf Female looks **** :P
If you want to play healer you can play Elven Elder (they look cute in majestic robe ^^) or bishop , people will LOVE YOU and you also make a lot of friend and very social in a healer role :)
