Could someone explain to me the reasoning that you can fail an attempt to access someones PlayNC acount an unlimited number of times?
ATM machines lock you out and usually take your card. You have to go to the bank and get your card back. Why? Because they want to make sure no one does anything wrong to your account and so they do not have to deal with any damaging purchases.
Various password protected sites have a 3 attempt rule and then you are locked for 24 hours, or until the original owner contacts their support.
Why doesn't NCSoft lock out the person attempting to change the account within 3 attempts? If someone gets it wrong the owner should have to contact the support to get it unlocked and to protect the owner from losses. This is an honest discussion. This is not a petition. Please do not flame because this will be locked.
I agree. There should be an automatic lock of the account for a short time when the password reset fails, or when someone tries to login with the wrong password. I'd definately say more than three tries thtough, because with my butterfingers I usually type my password 3-6 times just to get ingame :)
/signed. this would also give you an ad hoc way of locking the account that would give you time to place a ticket with support, before the stuff is lost (assuming they do figure out your username/password, and that you catch them in the act). great idea, and also not sure why they werent already doing this, as it would save them headaches as well.

Thats an easy answer, since your (topic starter) issue is one that gets asked for many websites and windows logons.
So why don't they do this?
You'd have malicious people blocking your account by trying 3 times in a row. Not that hard to guess account names, most either use their online nickname or first character name.
