Hi! I am a lvl 18 human mistyc and i want to be a cleric and i think casting speed is vaital . Well i wear set of devotion and have spiritshouts and some buffs but still i am very slow .......So can i increase my casting speed in some metod like wearing a necklace or something. Waiting for a replay . Thanks :D
Certain robe sets have casting speed additions as well as special abilities for weapons.
If you go to the library on this site you should be able to look up your grade to see what robes add what abilities as well as which weapons you can apply an acumen ability.
once you hit 20 you can get tatoos to increase yoru casting stats, i actually recommend waiting till 40 though since the tatoos from 20 are destroyed when you hit 40. Wit is the casting stat and later there are more effective casting armors as well as passive skills which give small but crucial boosts.
I would not recommend you getting tattos until you are lvl 40.
You can get temporrary taoos form lvl 20-40 but they dissapear when you hit lvl 40. They cost an arm and a leg if your a new player and you should not need them that much. The lvl 20-40 tatoos can be bought at the normal grocery store I beleive. You need 10 dyes and then have to pay quite a a feee at the symbol make to get it applied.
You are much better of getting a armor set that gives you set bonuses that increase your WIT. The higher your WIT modifier , the higher your casting speed.
No Grade -> Devotion set
D grade (lvl 20-40) its the Elven Mithril Set.

Once you hit C grade (lvl 40+) there are weapons that you can add a Speacial Ability (SA). Some examples: Mysterious Sword (low C grade) and Homonkulus Sword (higher C garde) can have teh Acumen SA on them.
You dont really need that much more casting speed form lvl 1-40 , so just wait till your lvl 40+ to tweak your stats
By the way, you will get a passive skill that increases your casting speed time to time.
pre 40 ones are bought in the grocery stores of towns, the post 40 ones are from teh merchant of mammon or drops. I don't knwo the prices off the top of my head but costly is a decent description.

Oh, I switch form Majestic Heavy to Devotion set to buff.
I only have to fully buff 5 fighters so I have enough mp even with the heavy armor. The devotion is just to cut down on the buff time. Casting in heavy is so slow.

I was under the assumption you had to buff a 9-char party. Understand it better now :)
FYI as to whats better on sets: +3 wit > 15% cast speed in B grade. I have a BW robe set on my lvl 52 Bishop which gives +3 wit and I still have the C grade Karmian set which gives 15% cast speed. I tested both sets to see which set gives more cast speed, with and without weapon SA acumen and self buffs. BW set gave more cast speed in both cases. Just barely so +2 wit may not be as much as 15%. End game after you have all your Fast Casting passive skills im not sure if 15% turns out being more, but B grade i know for sure its not. You said you are going cleric; if you become a Bish you will need plenty of wit anyway cuz wit is a modifier for rez %. which you can get 20% more from your rez. There is or was a sticky with great detail on the wit = rez.
you can xp very well in devo set through D grade, for your first character i would advise skipping the banana suit (elven mithril) and saving up for the c grade armor you want. and note that blessed sps increases cast speed (it doesnt change your stats to reflect the change in speed though), normal sps doesnt.
Make sure you have your leather helm for the devotion set...

But otherwise, you won't be able to increase your casting until after level 40 (DON'T get pre 40 tatts). When you hit C grade get Karmian Set, a Homunklus with acumen, and a +4 WIT -4MEN tattoo...
Oh yea, and as a cleric...you will get an acumen buff, buff yourself with that, that makes you cast bunches faster...which you get before lvl 40. So hang in there and get your acumen spellbook and cast that on yourself and your mage friends! :D
An easy fix for now, but an expensive one would be to buy Magic swift attack pots...They look like a odd purfume bottle and are a pinkish purplish color and can buy them at your local grocer.
Niceeeee ! Things are now ok ! With set of devotion and acumen i won't have problems until 40 + I even think i won't have problem with complicate mage like Group Heal !!!!! :)
I concur. I had to switch to majestic in C5 (because my mana doesn't go as far when healing anymore) but I miss the casting speed and m.def I had in tallum dearly :(
