The undead army has been defeated with your help, and Omega has taken his revenge. What did you think about this event? Please place your votes below and reply in this thread with specific comments to let us know what you thought about this event. Thank you!
I couldn't even find these **** mobs to start with. And I searched for them. =="
I don't want to participate in another event like this because I didn't get to participate in this one since I couldn't find any mobs.

Better distribution all day long would be great.

And make them give rewards according to level, not a level 78+ killing level 20 event mobs, and perhaps even balance the spawn according to how many players of the level that has been active in the last month.
While I found this event to be fun and rewarding, there were nonetheless problems with it. One of the main problems, in my eyes, was the non-randomness of the spawns. They appeared on the same place, over and over again, so after the first two spawns you could "farm" them before the event announcement appeared - and many did, my clan including.

Too easy for an organised group to get the items, too hard for a random player (even if a few got lucky).
I didn't play a huge amount for the event but saw no event mobs and saw no messages.
Did not see any mops. I was on everyday all week. :(
The mobs spawned before the announcement, and sometimes without an announcement at all.

They spawned at the same places every time, and same as former events.

Level dif doesn't seem to have any effect on drops. Most of the mobs get taken down by the high level players even in low lvl places giving high lvl players all the benefits.

And as all your events they only spawn during prime time and totally shutting us non prime time players out of the event.

"Would you participate in an event like this again?"

No i would not. I don't see any reason to use my time playing av event that is so poorly planed as this one. Right now i don't see any reason to participate in any of your events as i can't play the "prime time".
There is no option like "I missed the event because mobs did not spawn really randomly all the time but only on certain times".
Wanted to participate but as many others I couldnt find any mobs.
I knew exactly what it was going to be like, i so I didnt bother trying. I know some friends who did well by camping the spots, but it's still easy to do.

The announcments need to come up earlier, there needs to be more/diffrent spawn points, and i would love to see them "attacking" towns again. All this at diffrent parts of the day, not just 2 times when half of the people are still at work.

Also, during the week? I mean...i dont even have to explain.
The reason the first one was great, was because the weekends were intense. The Dark Lord was exactly how these spawn type events should work. Confusing, Tough, and going out with one large bang on a weekend afternoon.

I couldn't even find these **** mobs to start with. And I searched for them. =="

A problem I found was that the mobs often spawned at least 5 minutes before the server announcements. Once it was 30 minutes behind. If spawn spots are camped then those people (like me) start looking for other mobs as soon as the mobs spawned. So by the time you see an announcement all that is left are raid bosses... if you're lucky.

I really liked this event. Doing the leg work to find spawn spots in first 2 days helps for the rest of the event. I wish bsoe and brez scrolls dropped but I was after rice cakes. I'm happy :).
Btw, this reminds me, could we please have it so that even if you turn system messages off, announcements still appears.
I put in at least 24 hours just running around between spawn locations with multiple characters on 2 accounts. Not once did I find an event mob, until the very last spawn of the event, and only after somebody on these forums posted the spawn time.

During the evening hours (6 pm CST - 2 am CST) when I play there was not a single event announcement throughout the entire event.

The spawn locations and times should be randomized to prevent camping. High level players should not be able to get drops from low level event mobs.
I selected the drop rate was balanced, I think it was, but just wrong balanced I'd like to add. Taking the number of mobs and the nuber of item rewards, its ok, but it would have been better if every mob would have droped stuff, not just 5 out of 20. Next time let all mobs drop stuff, just lower the ammount droped (5 of 20 mobs drop 100 items = 500 items, 20 of 20 mobs drop 25 items = 500 items). Also render the spawns with every appearence, and add more spawntimes (maybe lesser mobs each spawn/lesser spawn to compensate). The event where hints where given on the splash screen was a step into the right direction I think, try to improve that system =)

Overall a good event. Just EA scrolls, no EW, maybe a bit too much buff scrolls but the idea to give out mats was nice. Next time add some more keymats/recipes maybe, this way ppl can equip themself without ruining the market for scrolls or needing ages of shoptime to get to the money.
This type of event is my favorite.

There are a few things that I think could make for a better event:
- More spawns throughout the day/evening.
- Vary the locations of the spawns, preferrably enough that you have to actually search every time the message appears.
- Ramp up the spawn rate as the event goes on, to the point that on the last day it actually feels like an all out war is being waged against the server.

One thing I really liked about this event, that IMO put it heads and shoulders above all other events we have ever had was the Mats dropping. This was a great addition. Base mats, components, and recipes make great drops for an event like this. I'd like to see it expanded to include all grades as applicable to the mob levels. Of course, tune it so that as the grade goes up, the drop rate goes down. It wouldn't kill us to mix in some A and S grade recipes and mats, but definitely not at the rate the B grade ones dropped in this last event.
I know the servers I play on are north American.... but that doesnt make it ok to not spawn event mobs during australian/euro times. I would have participated a lot more if the mobs had actually been around. Please just get rid of the whole variable spawn/drop rates for event mobs/items!
I gave the event a positive review, but I will add the "but" now.

I loved the story behind the event and the general idea, but the mob spawn timing was off the entire event - who wants to run around for several hours thinking they might run into an event spawn when there is actually no chance at all of running into anything because it was not the right time of day?

There also needs to be more solo mobs in the first profession and lower level ranges.

I agree with LC for very similar reasons
I liked the event, but on the first day, the first spawn we killed some mobs then... server crash. Hindemith came back up and all mobs and spawns disappeared. I hope NCSoft can fix this issue that it saves which mobs are still alive after a server crash so the event is still playable.
i didnt see the option for "i was on 7 hours a day every day, and didnt see one server announcement or mob"
This type of event is a waste of resources to the dev team and players alike.

After the first day, if you didn't know a spawn location, you didn't get mobs. All the large alliances had low level alts at the spawn points. When mobs spawned, they were killed within minutes.

At least this is how it was on my server.

In addition, it makes a lot of people become greedier than usual, turned a lot of nice players into jerks and turned the jerks into monsters. I participated in one raid during this time. We have 8 parties. One party got no drops, four parties got one drop each, one party got 5 drops, and the rest of the drops went to the other two parties. There was a lot dropped from this RB as well, including EW-S, Majestic Leather and a Divine Inspiration book, and also approximately 120 L2Day scrolls. And we won't go into the list of mats, key mats and recipes dropped. More than enough for eveyone to have a little piece of the pie, and yet, one of the parties who happened to be the winner of much of the loot party returned the instant there were no drops left.

This type of event is poorly planned and should never happen again, at least in its current form. Randomizing the locations of spawns, making the raid bosses split the drops among all parties, and making more mobs spawn would be a good way to start. I saw a total of four announcements all week, and I was on vacation.

What did you think about the event item drop rate during the event?

Not to be picky, and i did push hard to get this question asked for the player base.

But i didn't put a response for this one, as that question doesn't apply to this type of event.

It applies to the pollen event, it applies to the halloween event, it applies to the christmas event. Where items are dropped for a reward turn in..... In this event the reward was dropped as loot. :)
The event idea, the items dropped (base mats etc.) and the drop rate IF you actually found some mobs all were good. The only problem, and it is a big one, was - as others already posted - that the mobs always spawned in the same spots. So after the first few spawns, when people became aware of this, clans started putting alt characters at these places and whenever the mobs spawned, they were gone withing a matter of one or two minutes. It definitely would have been better to have the mobs spawn in really random places, so that after each "the mobs have spawned" message, people would have to actually SEARCH for them. As it was this time, it was all about who can hit a SOE the fastest or who has a clan hall port that leads practically directly to the mobs.
You didn't get it guys. It was an event for jobless people.
Spawntime during work hours and not during weekends. Maybe they were manually spawned by GMs... :)

As an euro I liked a lot this event. I learned about 8 or 9 spawn locations, and since it was around the same times everyday, it wasn't too hard to get to some mobs in time. I wish I knew about them all though, and even on the last day, we heard about a new spot from an ally member who was hunting near, so I guess you had the impression it was camped only because several alliances knew about several spots each.

Anyway I also think they should vary locations and randomize them a bit, as well as make the spawns happen at more varied times, for example every ingame midnight, not only in the european evening.

And last note, I don't know if it was a feature or a bug..., but I often saw 2 same raid boss spawned one on the top of the other. And as you can guess, I saw people not paying attention and attacking both, even though raid leaders warned them...
This kind of event is for hardcore gamers or people who don't work. As usual, working people have almost no chance to get even 1 reward ...
Main prob with this event: They always spawned in the EXACT same spots.. sure i liked that they dropped basic mats and buff scrolls.. but there wasnt enough of them or spawned only like 2 times during the entire day.

Sure there was like 10 RB's still standing at the end of the event (on Gustin anyways) Maybe more mobs and less RB's next time? (if there's going to be a next time)
This event sucked they spawned mobs only during the day time so people the that work all day couldn't play unless they take a sick day.
Must say that I also had problems finding the mobs :/ .. I could see the message on the screen but ran all over and there was no mobs :/
I like the event. Im Euro player and saw every day the 2 anouncements while i was on. One was between 7-8 pm the 2nd between 11-12 pm ( german time ).
I also did know a few spawn spots from last year but also found some new. The material drops where awesome.
To bad i could not do a single raid of the 20 bosses i found during that week.
I cant complan about the spots cause i could do only 2 -3 spots a day. Most of the spots where already done before the announcemt was out so i was glad i could do at least one to two spots per day.

What i must say the lvl of the mobs wherent in the lvl range of ppl playin in that aeria. So even if you might have found some event mobs while u are hunting they most time you could not do em. I mean like in dragon vally the spot is for ppl around lvl 40-56 and the event mobs i saw there where like lvl 70+ and 4-5x hp. Only very few where in the lvl range.

For the ppl that complain about the times lets see it that way most Euro players cant do manor well because of the reset times this time they had the oportunity to get some materials other ppl get more easy with manor because they play on better times.
I know that still sucks for most ppl who didnt even got one mob anyway.
Overall I liked the story behind the event as well as the items dropped. No complaints there.

However, I will add myself to the list of dissatisfied players.

I have a full time job and live in North America, where incidently most of NC Soft's servers are located. As such I was unable to participate in the event in the evenings when I am able to play. The only benefit I received from this event was from participating in one event raid, drops where truly great. At least throw us a bone and spawn some event mobs in the evening.

As well, please add my complaints about the totally unrandom spawn locations. Completely ridiculous.

Should anyone from NC Soft read this, I loved the event. I just wish I would be granted the ability to participate.
I think the event gave some good idea for maybe a change to our normal raidboss's. Would having raidboss's drop base mats besides what they currently drop be a good idea or a bad one?

I tried to get the event mobs, but they either spawn when i was at work or when i couldn't be on. but, i think most people just couldn't get to them becuase higher lvl clan camped the spawn spots since they spawned in same spots over and over.
drops according to level would have been better. 85+ mobs should have dropped a and s grade mats. b grade mats arent as needed from level 80+ mobs as a and s grade mats would be. dropping the recipes and base mats was smart though made crafting quicker and cheaper.
Just some random thoughts.

1st, you definitely need to make sure your servers can take events like that. Spawn then crash is no fun, not even talking about lag.

2nd, that's not good for euro players. No kidding, 12 hours afk shop, and seen no spawn at all. Why do you stop when it's night for you ? There are way enough euro players around to clean the mobs. Can't say it's really fair, heh ? :(

3rd, that would be sooo good if someday we could know when exactly do events start and stop. Including hours, not only days. Last spawn was just like all the other ones. You could have at least changed the announcement, saying they're attempting a final strike or something like that.

But that event was kinda fun, people should know how it works by now... Even got a few % out of it. :p
Couldn't find the mobs either.
This was a hard one to fill out.

I liked the story and the idea of the event. But I never once saw any of these mobs (like many others). I couldn't answer whether or not the rewards were worth it or if they dropped enough.

All in all, I like these kinds of events. If I could find the event mobs.
What event?

Yes, I tried to find the mobs--over and over and over. I heard a clanmate say they had just wiped a group once.

In the past event that was similar to this (can't remember name) where mobs of monsters appeared--they seemed to be everywhere!
This time--you can't convince me there were any.

Underwhelmed.
Yep. I know exactly how you feel Drakkos.
Never saw any of the special mobs the entire time. I like the squash even alot, allowed everyone to participate and offered tangible rewards.
I really like that the event mobs (well some of them) dropped base mats this time. But I feel that the stacks should be been spread out to more mobs only fewer per mob but still a reasonable amount.

Something that I liked from the previous event of this type, was that the announcements contained hints as to where the mobs had spawned, but this time it was the same announcement every time, so to find the mobs you had to get lucky and port to the right area before the mobs had been killed by people already in the area.
One big problem with this on my server (Seigehardt) was that the game started algging and delaying badly when event mobs spawned. It was so bad that after the first 2 days I started logging every night when they spawned. Also, the mob lvls needed to be more apprpopriate for the locations. The event mobs spawned very often in Timak Orc Camp, but they were 60s level mobs (or higher) in a low 40s hunting ground.
Looking at the poll I could not see the right answer for what I thought.
Liked the Storyline, but like many others finding the mobs was none go, and I was all over the server doing quest for a lowbe toon. We went looking in alot of areas, but it would appear that the monsters liked to spawn in bulk. Thus from what I did hear making them campable.
Thanks once again to everyone for participating in this event poll. These polls have a direct impact on the planning of future events, so your time answering the questions (and playing in the event!) is much appreciated. :)
I was disappointed because I could not find the mobs. I personally do know know someone who met them. I heard they where for high level toons as well.
