So... HE is the way to go?

Ok finally time to start my sub. Decided on an archer class so the options are HE or PR (I’m a DE). I don't know much about archers (except from a target's perspective :P) but from what I've read till now it seems kind of a consensus that HE>>>PR (at least PvP wise, which is my main objective)...

Thing is I'd rather go PR just to try something different (everybody else seems to be subbing HE :/)but I won't do it if the difference is that big, and right know it seems so.
What I have been reading:
- HE pros 1) Can hit almost as hard as PRs but shot faster and sill have significantly higer CP/HP 2) have more useful skills for an archer than PRs
- PR pros 1) Can hit a bit harder than HE 2) Higher run speed

So question is if this information is accurate (archers in my clan think it is, but we have only HEs and SRs...) is worth it trying PR or should I just follow the crowd and go HE?
I don’t expect to have problems with buffs.

Thanks in advance
well, they both use the same gear... if you're really torn up about it you can try a PR and switch to HE later if it sucks right? re-subbing doesnt involve redoing the quest
if you are doing group pvp, then go PR. get a dex tat and you will love the amount of times you crit people.
a good PR > a good HE. the only reason why you see so many HEs is that they are a lot easier to play than a PR. to be good with a PR you must learn how to utilize those skills that you think aren't as useful to archers than the ones that the HE has. have you ever been hitting on a PR and just as it was about to die it turns around and slaps you with a 5k shot with it's Fatal Counter skill? (exaggerating, of course).

the PR is a glass cannon, which is another reason why most people prefer the HE. an HE is an HP machine, it can sit there and take a beating while beating on somebody else. all you have to do with an HE is target somebody and go ahead shoot them, without thinking much about the current battle situation, which target is weaker, and which course of action would yield the most favourable results.

if you want to "try something new" and be a bit more unique, sub into a PR, but be prepared to learn how to play that class. if you do not wish for that, and would rather pwn whatever moves without much brain power, then sub into an HE.

lol. well that wasn't biased at all. ;P

thats not ALTOGETHER true, Fatal counter does take a bit of time to cast and really isnt effective in pvp cause if youre down past 50% health youre not going to last long enough to cast it. fatal counter is for pve; most PR use Pain of sagi to lower HP a long way down, then use Fatal counter on a solo passive mob. never on social aggro unless you have haste-in-a-can and can stunshot backtoback.

and HE have a skill after 61 called "quiver of holding" which increases weight capacity. this exctra capacity is primarily used for potions of CP which are as of late a far more spammable potion than previously. more CP =more win. theres no argument around it.
Both PR and HE are good at PvP, but HE will be much better for seige PvP.

IMO since you are a dark elf I would sub a human class, so people will think that maybe you are a PR but instead they will be thrown off when you start using HE tactics... Of course this will only work until people find out and remember you are a HE...lol.

Hawkeyes are better at seige PvP.

All archers are good at PvP.

Like someone else said, you can always reroll a subclass...

Yea... I think I'll have to that, I'm really undecided yet. Something is telling me I'll end up changing the sub to HE but lets see I will try PR first and if I get used to being a glass canon I'll stick with it even if just for being the only PR in the clan :)

Thanks for the input.
you get hex as a PR...and if you're not in 1v1 and you can land it...it's game over
take HE as 1st sub so when the time comes to take the 2nd sub u can choose an elf since u cant be an elf atm
Correct me if im wrong but any subclass you do is based on your mains first race not your subs race, so he still wouldent be able to do a elf...
yes, it's based on your first toon, i would sub a bd next if i could, but i can't :(
